I'll just post my thoughts on the game, and then I'm going to erase this game from my memory

- The Dean Dome is an absolute dump, I've been there in the past, its just been a long time, and good God the RBC Center puts that place to shame. They dont have a jumbotron and their audio system is just a group of speakers in the middle of the arena, very 80s-ish, and not something I would expect from a school that pulls in so much money (hell, their WalMart contract must be worth a few million at least right?)

- Butch Davis is a joke, he truly believes that their team did nothing wrong and that they overcame a ton of adversity this season. One person in the Rams Club lunch I went to asked Butch about him redshirting a player, and if it was setting a bad precedent, Butch bristled and said the player was completely "exonerated by the honor court" and thus it wouldnt be fair to the player for him to miss a season of his career over something that he didnt do.

- thegoodlife3 and I wore red to our Rams Club lunch and into the game, and we didnt get heckled one time. We were ready for the hammer to be dropped on us, but it never happened.

On to the game:

- Harrow was out on the court standing around and chatting it up with media members and coaches before the game. Maybe his head was woozy/dizzy and he didnt feel like he could make good decisions on the court, but that was kinda a Jay Cutler thing for me. If you cant play against our biggest rival, in a must win type game, I dont want to see you on the court in good spirits at all. But again, I dont know the circumstances, it just didnt look good to me, and I dont know if they showed any of that on tv

- Scott Wood was open a TON in this game, we just either didnt see him wide open, or we got the ball to him a second too late after the defense collaped on them

- Tracy Smith was visually upset during this game. I didnt get the impression that he gave up at any point, I think if anything he was trying too hard to make something happen and make up for the other players problems.

- CJ Leslie looks completely outmatched, we commented several times that he looks like he forgot how to play basketball. Just terrible decisions throughout the game, John Henson made him look like a fool a few times. He did turn things around in the second half, I just wish he could put together a complete game

- Lorenzo Brown is a monster, he really was the only person on the court that I felt confident when the ball was in his hands. I absolutely LOVE the fact that Lo tried to dunk it on their walkons. The fans hated it and yelled out, "stay classy Sidney" and "big man trying to dunk on our walkons", FUCK THAT, if you put a player on the floor they better be able to play. I would be more upset if we turned down our level of play to match the walkons, and you better believe the fans would freak out if one of their walkons tried to dunk on Lorenzo. My hats off to him, I actually commented the possession before he tried the dunk that he should just posterize one of their walkons, so I was very happy to see him do it.

- Finally, our team has no identity at all, we kept running the same weave offensive sets over and over, we kept making sloppy, lazy passes that led to turnovers, we refuse to go strong to the basket and get our shit tossed over and over(Richard Howell is the only 270 lb finesse player on the planet apparently, maybe he's too heavy to reach the rim?), and would it kill one of our players to learn how to take a fucking charge? There were 2 or 3 breakaways for UNC where we couldve tried to take a charge, but instead of shuffle out of the way and make a halfass hand-swipe at the ball

that its, the game sucked, our team sucks, I'm over it

Harrow has had a history of dehydration issues, and I can't imagine playing as bad as he looked with the flu would have helped. If he had the flu and was contagious though, I'd rather him avoid the rest of the team so it doesn't get passed along like it did from Leslie.

I understand the frustration of the fan base, I am also livid at the lack of care and effort shown by this team. BUT no one can justify going on facebook and directly telling the players they suck, or are going to get Sid fired. What purpose does that serve other then making the situation worse? If you are friends with players on facebook or see them in class or around town, support and encourage them to do well the rest of the season. Your a fucking moron if you are ragging on the players for SIDNEY not doing a good job. Behavior like this out of the fanbase will serve no purpose other then when Sidney does go the players leave with him.

Serious question, how many charges have we drawn this season? I can specifically think of any.

What makes this loss so frustrating is that UNC is not a good team...and they didn't play good yesterday either. When the broadcast actually started we were down 13-2...we were down 34-21 at half. So they only outscored us by 2 during that stretch where we looked absolutely horrid. A good team would have been up by 30 on us at half. And most of the game we kept it within the 11-16 point range, meaning it was pretty much an even game aside from the 13-2 start (until UNC blew it open later in the game). So as bad as we played, its not like UNC just couldn't miss, or looked like a nat'l contender. They were very average. We just suck.

To say UNC isn't a good team is a little over the top.

They're ranked #21 right now so they're a pretty good team. They aren't a great team, agreed.

They struggle to make a lot of shots.

But Henson and Zeller are elite post players and have made most of the nation look bad this year. UNC is ranked 8th in the country defensively.

They lack good guard play obviously, but their guards are still about as good as ours and oh what do you know they have the #1 recruit in the nation on the wing. Granted, he's been awful this year but he wasn't awful yesterday (mostly due to us leaving him wide open).

Carolina is an alright team. We should have made a game out of it though, our effort was one of the worst I've ever seen. Pathetic. It reminds me of that time Herb was the coach and we came in with the better team and they beat us by 25 and everyone said good lord we have to get rid of Herb.

^Fair enough...they are a good team. But it's not like they're Duke or anything. And they did not play especially well yesterday. And still managed to beat us by 20.

Remember when we beat them 41-10 in football? A total blow out that we bragged about for a while. They basically beat us that bad every year...they've beaten us 15 of the last 16. And most of those losses were blowouts.

The only reason UNC won that game yesterday was because they could out-athlete us at the 4 and 5 position. Barnes was not the reason they won...he's the reason the win became a blowout. CJL may be 6'8", but he's the smallest 6'8" player in the country and he failed to box anyone out the entire game to try to counter their length. Offensive rebounds are literally the only reason they were able to make that game the way it was. They suck cock in a half court offense and have for many years now.

Well, if you only pick one thing to be good at in basketball, rebounding would be your number one choice. It's one of the easiest ways to score and prevents the other team from scoring easily. So, it's a huge swing.

They were also good at the FT line, where we suck. That's another extremely easy way to score points.

Even though we run better offense, it results in less scoring than just having athletes who can rebound the ball and draw fouls.

If you have to pick and choose things to be good at on the basketball court, UNC is certainly in a better position than us. We can't shoot FTs our rebound against real competition, so we are left with very low probability ways to score.

I swear to god if Richard Howell could fucking dunk the ball, we would be having a good season right now. Being bigs a shit doesn't mean shit if the other team can just play over you.

UNC has clearly figured out a way to pay to keep them at a competitive advantage for a long time.

We need to figure out how to neutralize that.

In the old days (late 90's-early 2000's) it was used BMW's, parental housing, food, and pizza money.

Now its stacks of cash, jewelry, etc...

We need to make sure Carolina gets taken down for their shit.

Now that they've finally been caught red handed it seems to be slipping through cracks, what a fucking joke

If we do not do better with our easier 2nd half ACC schedule, then I hope we fire Sid the day after we lose in the ACC tourney.

one thing that pissed me off is the fact that we looked WORSE this game - after our players only meeting - than we did in the Clemson and Miami games. We looked like we were "getting it" for large portions of those games
