StateCole, hope you didn't take my comment the wrong way. Especially when they are going to rely on Corey Maggette this year
I think Larose is half good work ethic, and half being a benefactor of being on the top line. Still shouldn't be cracking the top 6, and on many teams he wouldn't even be thought of for the 3rd line.

Holy crap. This is my first Muller-coached game that I'm watching.
It's like a totally different team! So much focus on offense.

I think the next roadtrip will do this team some good. Bond with the new coaches. That being said, it's time to clean house. Got too many young guys that deserve to get an EXTENDED look with the big club. 12/3/2011 9:40:16 PM |

I would be totally okay with a complete rebuild. Let's commit to being shitty for just a few years, get Nail or Grigorenko, play the kids and come out of it with a competitive team while we still have Staal and Ward. This trying to make a run in February shit is getting old.

Instead of Bobby Ryan, how about Jerome Iginla? Imagine this... (oh, this is definitely me being loco)
Skinner, Staal, Ruutu Stewart, Sutter, Iginla Poni, Jokinen, Dwyer Tlusty, Brent, Larose

Now I'm not entirely sure what kind of situation we are looking at as far as a deep draft goes this year, but I would probably be interested in trading away our "veteran players" this year for picks and prospects.
Otherwise, we end up in the same situation we are in now.
Now if something comes along and makes sense, then I'm all for it. Hurrying along a rebuild without sacrificing the future sounds great, but I would like to actually be in a REAL rebuild, not this crap we've been sold on the last two years. 12/5/2011 11:58:25 AM |

Also, does anyone know our draft picks for this year?

I believe we have 2 2nd round picks and 2 4th round picks... then 1 every other round.
Ruutu should be no surprise since his contract is up at the end of the season. He is a fan favorite, so post that on the Canes facebook wall and see what happens. Then report back.
Oh god, I just realized they have Patrick Eaves in Detroit.

2012/13 realignment official - our new "conference" is Carolina, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, NY Rangers, NY Islanders, New Jersey, and Washington.
Pros: down to 1 home game against Buffalo per year
Cons: pretty much everything else 12/5/2011 9:36:46 PM |

On the bright side...if that new system were to start this season, we'd only be 7 points out of the playoff race instead of 9 like we are now. I think the new scheduling will also even out the division a bit more than people think, too. 12/5/2011 10:22:49 PM |

The NHLPA still has to vote, so there's an outside shot this doesn't stick?
And these conferences will likely change in a few years anyways when Florida, Columbus and Phoenix are no longer around. Never mind this one

man Kaberle is going to be one hell of an albatross 12/6/2011 6:36:27 PM |

Send him down to AHL?
Honestly though, the way we're playing right now, a 2nd rounder from us is as good as a 1st round pick and as this year's draft is "supposed" to be deep, that says a lot about Kaberle.
