I'm so glad I went to this game. I was impressed by how deep we were in there also. That pick 6... omg. Go Pack!

God bridge water got rocked every play in the 2nd half to the point where I was wincing every time he got hit and yet he didn't lose his composure and run like a sissy or throw the ball away unless it was to keep the play alive or to not lose yardage. Seriously standing in there to take the big hit and make the play was impressive.

hell of a game and a great win for the pack...Great end to what was started out looking like an awful season.

The most impressive thing from the game though, was Bridgewater, that dude is a beast...I've never seen somebody take that many dome rockers and keep on going.

i heard there were about 55,000-57,000 tickets sold and about 50,000 people showed up

highest all-time attendance in a Meineke/Belk bowl though

Louisville had at least 7 entire sections that had absolutely no one in them. Thought it was odd that not a single person ended up with tickets for those sections.

Honestly, more like 80/20, State. There were tons of Pack fans in the Louisville sections as well. I will say I thought they traveled pretty well and were loud. (when they booed)

I was sitting in 540 and could only spot a few dozen Lousiville fans. There were maybe 6 or 7 in the row behind us but they rarely made much noise (except in the third quarter one of them commented that our campus looks like a factory...)

Charlotte always confuses me. So uptown is pretty much the same as downtown, right? It's just a city that isn't huge trying to make itself sound like a real city?

North Carolina State is an outstanding football team but we are nowhere near what we should be," Strong said. "If you look at a team that's what we have to get to. We have to do a better job of recruiting and we have to be able to go make plays and get playmakers into our offense and also get playmakers into our defense. It was a good learning experience for us.

Charlotte is the 17th largest city in America (population).

Billy Joel describes the difference between "uptown" and "downtown":

I was thinking about going but what shitty conditions. It would be an absolute hell experience and I don't see how I could enjoy any part of the game in this weather. Please to have bowl games in bowl-like destinations from now on."

Quote :
"There is much confusion brought about by the use of the terms "Uptown" and "Downtown" for Charlotte's center city area. These terms do not reference different areas of town and are thus interchangeable.

The history of the dual names is contested, yet prior to the mid-late 1980s, the term "Downtown" was used by residents, media and city leaders for the center city. During the 1980s, after the release of "Uptown Girl" by musician Billy Joel, first released in 1983, a massive campaign was launched to revamp the image of the downtown area and the term "Uptown" was introduced to the general public. On February 14, 1987, the Charlotte Observer began using the term "Uptown" as a way to promote a more positive upbeat image of the center city area.[3] School teachers were provided with "historical" documents justifying use of the term to teach to students. (Proclamation designating central shopping and business district as Uptown Charlotte by City of Charlotte Mayor John M. Belk on September 23, 1974)

Though many[who?] feel that the term "Uptown Charlotte" is a new term in the last 10 years, local residents from three or more generations past will attest to having called the center city area Uptown their entire lives.[citation needed] This is due to the main intersection in the original center city, Trade St. and Tryon St., having been the point of highest elevation. When people came from outlying areas to the city, they would say they were going 'up to town', a phrase that was eventually shortened to 'Uptown'."

i gotta say that Amerson's 1st INT was an impressive one, if only for the catch by itself. He got up in there and took the ball away from the receiver from behind him. you know how we do

the tire -> muffler -> department store bowl has really come a long way since we were there in 05. The pre-game stuff was great, the goody bags were nice, and i thought the overall atmosphere was really good. Moving it to primetime went a long way. Very well organized and put together.

Also, the sound system at BoA stadium was light years better than CF. We need to upgrade!

This is misleading because of the large city size with all the incorporated communities surrounding the actual city. Most real cities are fractions the size of Charlotte and similar population.

^. True, if you include surrounding metropolitan areas. (things like including Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, and Cary as one area) Charlotte falls to 33d
