Peters' save on Vanek was eerily reminiscent of Cujo's save in against Dallas in Game 7 of the '97 WCSF.

Yep, quite the snipe. Can we go ahead and resign this guy already? Quickly becoming my favorite player on the team.

"Canes forward Tuomo Ruutu may be able to rejoin the lineup sooner than expected.
After Ruutu underwent hip surgery in December, it was believed he might need until the end of April to recover. General manager Jim Rutherford said then that Ruutu likely would miss the regular season but could return for the playoffs.
But Rutherford said this week that March 15 was the date doctors will decide if Ruutu can be cleared to return to practice. And Canes coach Kirk Muller said Sunday that once he's back in practices it may not take long for him to be ready to play.
"Hopefully by next week we get the green light from him," Muller said. "I think it will start off as team practices, then physical contact. He's a guy who has kept himself in pretty good shape. I think once it starts, as far as practices, I don't think he's too far off.
"If he feels good, you could see him being ready to get in the lineup. I don't know how long it will take but I don't think it will take too long."
Ruutu did some early skating Sunday before the Canes' closed practice for the team's full season-ticket holders. Also skating was defenseman Joni Pitkanen, who remains day-to-day with a lower-body injury."

PS ncsuftw1: Don't know if this is your area, but any idea why they decided to get rid of the big clock during intermission on the in-house TVs (the ones above the concession stands, in the bar areas, etc.)? The last few years they had the time remaining in large white numbers in one of the lower corners, which made it way easier to assess how much time I had to get back to my seat while walking around the concourse than the tiny clock/score box they're using now.

Got to work the team meal yesterday was also in the suite to serve dessert to Karmanos/Rutherford and Karmanos' family for his birthday. I probably would have worked yesterday even if they weren't paying me.

^ FWIW, they still have that channel available on all in-house TV's. I don't know why decided to change to the more broadcast looking one, though. I like that one too because you don't have to strain to see the time.

That'd easily be one of the best top 6's in the league. I just don't want to rush Ruutu back because when he comes back we need him making those big hits.

Awarded to? It wasn't an own goal.

A direction change on a shot like that is 100% the reason it's a goal instead of a save.

Kidding me? I didn't mean it was an awarded goal, it was awarded to Nash in the same sense that that last assist was awarded to Dwyer. See also: assigned.

And that goal doesn't happen without Harrison's shot either.

I'd been a pretty big fan since 2000/2001, tonight's the first time I'd watched a game this year though. Observations:

- Top 2 lines are
- Peters looks worlds better than when last saw him play.
- The new Fox Sports interview girl doesn't appear to be very good at her job.

I gotcha now. Thought you meant that the goal should be Harrison's since it wasn't a "scorer's" tip.

Anyways, PETE DAWG.

Nah, just that Harrison's made that happen three or four times already this year and I love him for that.

Love that Peters made that stop on Brouwer.

I'm watching on Gamecenter, so no commercials.

Also, the save Lundqvist just made in Buffalo with the outside of his skate was NUTS. Probably better than Peters robbing Vanek.

A few thoughts, and correct me where I am wrong:

1) I think Nash should stay in the show and not go back to CLT
2) Peters looked like an NHL goalie last night, shouldn't he get the start tomorrow night?
3) Powerplay still needs work. Was/Is McBain on it? I seem to remember him doing a good job on the PP, yet I don't recall seeing him out there for them. However, I have missed a number of games and didn't pay close attention to the PP last night in terms of players. I know Brent has been getting some time out there.
4) Chantel needs a mic?

I don't think Nash is going back to Charlotte again. 3rd line center has been a problem for this team from the beginning, and he has stepped up and seized the opportunity. For all of our drafted prospects that turn out to be total duds, it seems like we may be establishing a decent track record at trading for other teams' (Tlusty, Nash).

Apparently he got rocked on his very first shift, skated a few more shifts and hasn't returned since. Speculation is a concussion. This is all based on tweets, so take that as you will.
