^wrongthere aren't very many marquee games that day that ESPN could pull...I think i remember some random SEC matchup that might would be the one they went with.if both teams are undefeated AND its on Halloween, there's a good chance. Id put it somewhere around 25%, but that is depending on A LOT of factors.

Crazy watching us just roll through three teams but not having a true sense of where we really are. Hopefully we'll keep on keeping on and make it to Clemson undefeated. Louisville certainly isn't as scary as I thought there were, but I'm not discounting them. VTech losing their QB will help us in what could still be a really tough game at Lane. Wake Forest shouldn't be a problem, but they always seem to be when they play us at home. I'll probably go to that game (first time at Wake).I think us going into the game against Clemson undefeated is definitely doable.
9/21/2015 2:35:23 PM
^^Oh I said if we're both undefeated then we'd have a really good shot at it. What I was trying to imply, was that the odds of both teams being undefeated for our game was REALLY, REALLY low. I don't see our team going 7-0, and Clemson plays ND and GT between now and then so they have some tough games.I think if we're both undefeated, we'd almost be a lock for Gameday...that being said, I just don't see us getting to 7-0 with how our schedule shakes out. Really hoping I'm wrong because that would be huge for our program. My reasoning:Louisville - they have a warm-up game next week to help settle their QB situation, and they had 4-5 turnovers and still almost beat Houston. I think it'll be a good game, and it's winnable, but it'll be the first good defense we play all year and we're suppose to be unleashing the rest of our playbook, so could our offense sputtering a bit.@VT - short week, on the road, one of the best defenses we'll face all year. I know the QB is out, but they just hung 40+ and 50+ points the last 2 games and their OL is playing well. We're going to have a really hard time running against that DL, so Brissett is going to have to play great.@Wake - we have a horrible track record playing @Wake going back the last 10 years. On paper we should win that game, but we just never play well at Wake. I think this is the most winnable game of the 3 based purely on talent.[Edited on September 21, 2015 at 2:40 PM. Reason : .]
9/21/2015 2:35:34 PM
Florida plays Georgia that day in the worlds largest cocktail party or whatever and if both teams are undefeated, thats where Gameday will be. 100% lock. But Georgia plays Bama, @ UT, and MizzouFlorida plays UT, Ole Miss, @Mizzou, @ LSUSo theres at least 2 or 3 losses in there for those two teams combined.
9/21/2015 2:43:18 PM
I'd be surprised if we're 5-0 going to VT, much less 7-0.. Louisville isn't gonna keep losing close games to good teams, they might just be due for a W. And going to VT is going to be tough no matter what.
9/21/2015 2:54:20 PM
9-0 is pretty much a lockUSA = cupcakeLouisville = season over dumpster fire and at homeVa Tech = bogus QBBye week to get rested as fuckWake = they lost to cuse bruh, we def winning there for the first time in like a dozen yearsClemson = you seen their schedule the 4 weeks before us? they will be tired as f and playing in Carter finley where opponents dreams come to dieBC = QB outThe way I see it, we will be 9-0 going to FSU who will likely be 8-1as everyone knows, teams that are 9-0 are better than teams that are 8-1, therefore, we win + Brisket revenge and Heisman momentSyracuse is on 4th string QBUNC sucks12-0 eat our dicks!!!!!!!!!!!
9/21/2015 3:15:44 PM
^^^^we also have a bye week prior to the Wake game, which I think will help us to prepare and hopefully have us champing at the bit as opposed to coming out flat @Wake where there is no crowd energy to feed off of. I think that Wake game will be a good measure as to how much the current staff has changed the team's "NC State Shit" mentality. My bigger concern would be if the team starts to get caught up in their own hype. In this hypothetical scenario we're 6-0 and the team has been "reading their own press clippings" for two weeks and thinks the game will win itself at lil 'ol Wake. Here's hoping we've learned how to handle winning and Gameday ends up in Raleigh. That would be incredible.[Edited on September 21, 2015 at 3:30 PM. Reason : .]

lol gameday and all these X-0 predictions.
9/21/2015 3:30:08 PM
The optimism on this board is pretty hilarious. We haven't even played anyone. Lets wait until after our preseason to start making predictions.
9/21/2015 3:41:05 PM
I agree that talking about X-0 records and Gameday is pretty ridiculous at this point, but since we haven't yet played a "real" game, there's not much else to talk about. At least we're at a point where we can still be wildly (albeit absurdly) optimistic.

I haven't really watched Louisville much this season outside of some pieces of the Auburn and Clemson games, but the thing I heard their fans complaining about were their QB being bad and that they couldn't stop the run. Now I'm sure they've cleaned that up a bit, but if they can't stop the run, esp. up the middle as the fans were claiming, we might really be able to wear that defense out.
9/22/2015 9:04:43 AM
Just need to open up that playbook and shut this game down as early as possible to get ready for the short turnaround @ VT
9/22/2015 9:43:19 AM

its embarrassing that Rivers and co couldn't even do simple things like ^, shows how bad ol Chuckles was to waste a once in a lifetime talent
9/22/2015 10:43:50 AM
^^^I'd rather not give VT any more film to study, so unless we play poorly and the game is in question, I'd prefer a narrower spectrum of plays.[Edited on September 22, 2015 at 10:46 AM. Reason : ^'s]

We should be more worried about @VT than about Louisville. Both teams have already had to play some tough games, but where VT has demonstrated they can win games with a backup QB, Louisville has done nothing but show they can't pull it together. Sure it's a 12:30 kickoff, but Louisville has to come into our house, which will likely be packed, and beat a highly motivated and well disciplined team. That's a tall order. We've gotta travel to Blacksburg on a short week and try to pull off the same thing 6 days later. @VT makes me way more nervous than Louisville. That being said, I still think we're perfectly capable of being 7-0 going into Halloween bring on GameDay
9/22/2015 11:11:01 AM
^ I think we should worry about beating South Alabama before we worry about anyone else.
9/22/2015 1:11:29 PM
^i mean...the fans can look ahead all they want, but yeah the team should worry about USA.
9/22/2015 1:58:47 PM
I think the team should still be thinking back to the ODU game. Still a lot to take away from that one.
9/22/2015 2:06:48 PM
After we are 14-0, I think we matchup very well against insert team here in the national championship game

9/26/2015 10:42:12 PM
I'd reply to that but it's Earl
9/26/2015 11:00:26 PM
You probably read it wrong anyway. Probably don't understand the difference between " 3 games we should lose" and "3 games we could lose". Obviously theres 8 games we could lose but only three we should lose. You could try to make a case for a 4th game we should lose but thats assuming you actually came on here to talk football instead of just to make jokes/1 liners.[Edited on September 26, 2015 at 11:09 PM. Anyone who can throw the ball or slow down our rushing attack is a threat to beat us. So tbat's like...our entire remaining schedule with the exception of Wake, but Wake can still beat us because they're Wake.
9/26/2015 11:21:09 PM

Getting no respect in the AP poll. All we need to do is score 60 against Louisville and then we will be in business.
9/27/2015 9:31:03 PM
9/27/2015 9:48:19 PM
^^We received 10 points in the latest AP poll. I think that's way more than enough "respect" at this point, considering the level of our competition.
9/28/2015 8:54:51 AM
I don't care much about "respect" at this point, we haven't beaten anyone for any voter to give us serious consideration. If we beat Louisville I think we instantly sneak in at #25 as our "4-0" becomes more legit at "5-0" when we actually have a win over a P5 team.
9/28/2015 9:22:05 AM
Louisville starting 1-5 when they've lost by a score or less to good teams so far seems a remote possibility. This is going to be a tough, tough win.[Edited on September 28, 2015 at 10:25 AM. Reason : G]
9/28/2015 10:24:27 AM
These are just preseason rankings anyway. The real rankings don't come out until November. If we're unbeaten by then, I'm sure we'll get just as much respect as everyone else who is unbeaten.
