Pandemics aren't controled by presidents. Even if he fired a guy, there is nothing a single person was going to do to stop this. Each state has public health officials, counties have public health officials. We have a private healthcare system with a lot of underlying issues making us vulnerable. Nobody is getting tested any time soon unless they're part of a mass outbreak that's super concentrated. So many places denying tests unless the suspected person has been to a foreign country with COVID clusters, which is dumb AF at this point. No one saw this coming. Trump is responding to his loss of the markets and reverting to nationalism using Europe as the new scapegoat. This narrative plays right into the core ideology of his base and takess the pandemic turns it into a strength for his campaign

Heres the narrative:
-Trump was proactive to ban Chinese and keep us safe
-Europe was too soft and too PC to ban travel
-Europe's open borders exacerbated the spread
-The weakness of Europe exposed us leading to our clusters
-European leaders can never be trusted with our safety again
-UK was wise to leave Europe and maintain their independence thus safety
-Democrats will want to open us back to Chinese and European world order
