"Again no factual response boozie? I wish I could say I was surprised. Your ineffectual commentary really highlights the weakness of your arguments. I've called you out repeatedly on this and you still can't come up with anything?"

You are too fucking dumb to argue with. Just stop.

All you can come up with for Virginia Tech is that we couldn't get open shots and make them.

Please stop acting like you know ball.

Quote :
"1. Our best player was sick (throwing up before the game and during halftime).
2. Our other low post threat was injured in warmup and couldn't play more than a couple minutes.
3. Our guards could not hit an outside shot to save their lives.
Given these facts are you surprised that we lost?"

Ok so IF we somehow beat UNC Saturday, they can argue:
1) Their best player Ed Davis is OUT not sick
2) Their tallest post presence Zeller is OUT not hurt
3) Another post man Wear is OUT no hurt

But after Roy beats our ass, I am sure you will still have excuses for us losing. We haven't had a major injury this year which is surprising as hell. Lowe has no excuses. Don't give me young either because he starts 2 seniors and 2 juniors which is a helluva lot more than Roy can say since you love to bring up the Roy argument which has no meaning to begin with.

^^they have 7 on the roster this year...that includes Davis, Zeller and Travis Wear...so yeah they still have 4 McDs AAs to our ZERO

And without looking it up to verify, I'd imagine the only other team that might have more than 4 AAs is Duke

hence peoples argument that Roy is coaching even worse than Sid this year...basically the same record, but a lot more talent coming out of high school

Sweet you guys are already making excuses before the game.

Look we have already debunked that players get McD's AA just because of where they go.

Look at Harrow. I mean who really thinks that Harrow won't turn out better next year than Drew/Strickland have?

I agree kids become McDs AAs when programs like UNC and Duke are recruiting them

they still have 7 to our 0

thats a pretty big fucking discrepancy...are all 7 of their AAs flops?

^I predicted a 4 point win...damn i wish i could be as pessimistic as you are all the time

Strickland....check
Henson.....check
Wear......check
Wear......check
Drew.......check
Davis......Good
Zeller.......check (He's not even that good)

So 1/7 is actually worth their salt so far. Hell their best players right now (Thompson and Graves) weren't even that highly recruited well at least Graves wasn't.

We just played the worst game NCSU has played in probably 10 years at home and you think we are going to win on the road? I'm not pessimist....I'm just honest. Would you really bet money on our team? I don't even do that when we are good.

lets examine the AAs unc has tomorrow

wear - worse player than howell
strickland - has some talent but is not a pg. marquette gets 3 guys like him every year and we beat them
drew 2 - sucks ass. also why the fuck does he go by "drew 2." what kind of retard would do that at his age? did he have a kid in high school?
henson - lmao

yea, that argument blows ass. not one of those guys is even as good as costner. strickland might be in a couple years.

lol Graves was NC's Mr. Basketball that year and a 4 star guy.

Strickland is actually pretty solid for a freshman. If you look at the +/- for UNC (I stroll over to IC everynow and then and they're big on it) line-ups where he is in are consistently in the + while line-ups where he's not in are consistently heavily -. I'm not sure if this is true but I think he's got the best +/- on UNC's team.

I'd bet money on us to cover the spread

Did we play like complete shit against Va Tech? Sure

But VT is better than UNC, and I don't see UNC hitting their first 10 field goals, and I don't see us hitting zero 3-pointers

heres the bottomline with UNC: Marcus Ginyard doesnt want to be there...he'd rather be working in NYC as an investment banker. His lethargy has influenced the team into taking the same attitude.

Ed Davis doesn't want to be there. He wishes he had left after last year. He just wanted to stay healthy so he could go pro after this year. Well he broke his wrist, but the NBA doesn't give a shit. He'll still be a 1st round pick.

State has shown a lot of heart in some losses, like GT and Clemson...fighting until the end...when is the last game UNC showed that kind of heart? Michigan State?

Johnny Thomas regularly owned Graves in his high school time at Greensboro Day.

At the time JT was a better pick up for us than Graves....too bad Johnny has stayed hurt.

Sid is what 1-8 against Roy? Still you can't argue the two....much like how people want to compare Sid's first 4 years and Herb's.

Wow boozie you definitely showed your basketball knowledge on this one... Condensing your idiocy you are arguing that UNC's team as it is currently comprised (including Davis being out etc.)is less talented than NCSU's? Seriously! So wait somehow all the recruiting experts and arguably the best recruiting coach in the nation were fooled. Hmmmmm that sounds really likely...
Quote :
"All you can come up with for Virginia Tech is that we couldn't get open shots and make them."
Actually if you would learn how to read I stated that we were getting open outside shots we just weren't hitting them. I also stated that if we had not been getting open shots I would have been more concerned.
Finally, you still failed to address:
Quote :
"1. Our best player was sick (throwing up before the game and during halftime).
2. Our other low post threat was injured in warmup and couldn't play more than a couple minutes.
3. Our guards could not hit an outside shot to save their lives.
Given these facts are you surprised that we lost?"

You had no answer pertaining to the VT game which is what we were discussing. Instead you went on a tangent about UNC's lineup. I don't think that has any bearing on how NCSU played vs. VT. But maybe that is just my severe lack of basketball knowledge .

You're a small picture person and I'm a big picture person, I guess.

I'm not concerned because we aren't hitting shots. I'm concerned that we're dead fucking last for the second time in three years, haven't finished better than 10th place since five seasons ago and regressing with every game. We can't hit shots. We can't defend. We can't drive. We can't win.

I understand a lot of you think of all of these issues - poof - disappear when we get two freshman in here but I for one don't believe that will happen for a second. I feel that we have fundamental flaws in our gameplan and that Lowe is one of the worst defensive coaches I've ever seen. Frankly, it's nearly impossible how much our defensive efficiency according to Pomeroy has gone from very, very good to worst in the ACC...

^ I think these issues have the potential to disappear and if they don't we will at least have talent at every position to attract a new coach with. If you want to talk big picture I expected a long painful transitioning process from the weave and heave to a more traditional offense. So far we are getting exactly what I expected when Sendek left. Worst case scenario we just suck it up and deal with a shitty season this year next year we get two top tier guards in and suck. Then we go after a coach and attract him with some top talent.
Defensively our major issue is and has been we don't force turnovers. I will not lie I find that disturbing however some better guard talent might do worlds of good in that department.

Lowe's career as a head coach at NC State hinges on next year. I am as big a Lowe supporter as anyone but would have no problem going in another direction if next year is more of the same.

But while numbers of stars for high school kids is never certain, this is supposed to be his best class yet coming in next season. Because of that, I'm willing to be patient enough to wait until next year.

College programs aren't (re)built overnight, especially when your coach has no college coaching (recruiting ties, etc) background. But given what he got out of Hickson, I'll happily give Coach Lowe a 5th year.

When Lowe was hired, despite his terrible NBA coaching record I thought it could work out well. For one thing he coached two expansion teams: the Timberwolves before Garnett, and the Grizzles before Gasol. Tim Floyd is a pretty good college coach with a terrible NBA record, but he took over the Bulls when Jordan, Pippen, etc left. The positive I hope(d) for in Lowe was the NBA ties. To win in modern day college basketball you need NBA caliber talent. Guys like Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Durant almost singlehandedly did great things for their programs. If Lowe sold Hickson on being able to take him to the NBA and can do the same with Harrow and Brown, everything is great.

At the end of the day, our AD hired a guy without no college coaching experience, an abysmal record as an NBA head coach, and no recruiting ties. Lowe's (predictable) failure these past 4 seasons are on him, and he should be fired. You can't blame a guy who's in over his head for falling on his face, you blame the guy who put him there.

As for Lowe, we really have no choice but to give him one more year to see what he can do with the incoming recruiting class. That's pretty much it though, he's out of excuses after next year. He needs to be fired as soon as it's obvious we're not making NCAA tournament again (probably 3-4 games into our ACC schedule next year). This guy is simply not a major conference caliber head coach.

Hay guys, this coach can't win in the ACC with a team full of freshmen, a handful of 2-3* guards, and one undersized 4* center. We need to fire him so we can become the laughing stock of the sports media as ole Fowler fudges another coaching search.

Some people think he can be a good coach... We've beaten a couple of good teams this year when our guards played well, but they've just been too damned inconsistent. I want to see what happens with these guards coming in.

OH, and if you really think we should fire him this year and just let the recruits coming in slip away, then you are a fucking retard.

what's wrong with his coaching?

his plays get the open looks, we just miss them lately
his presses are about as any team that doesn't constantly press
his defense works when the team doesn't play like idiots
he makes good adjustments
he's not afraid to make adjustments
he calls timeouts at appropriate times

a lot of people complain about his substitutions and starting patterns and say they don't make sense. Lowe's made one thing clear, if you want to play you have to earn your time in practice. Some of his substitution patterns remind me of when I attempt to take something apart. I look at a nut and try to guess a size to use, a lot of times it doesn't work because I don't have the proper tool for the job (like Lowe and his guards)

I grew up rooting for a national championship team and went to undergrad with a tournament caliber team year in and year out. Now I donate to a team who "gets open shots" while finishing 10th, 11th or 12th best. Call me crazy, but I like to win games and not "get open shots."

Anyway, beat the fuck out of UNC tomorrow please.

(his defense has been the worst in the ACC via Pomeroy over the last four seasons, bar none, by the way)

4. the alternative doesn't foresee to be any better

If we fire Lowe now who would want to coach here? Most outlets would accuse us of running off another coach (not untrue) and prospective coaches would be discouraged by that. We would probably lose our incoming recruits. Our last coaching search did not go well with getting a high profile coach, and I don't see how this one would go any better.

Ok, this is just bullshit. We're headed towards our 4th straight bottom three finish, not to mention second last place finish in 4 years. We've been the worst team in the ACC since Lowe's tenure began. There isn't a media outlet in the country who would criticize us for firing the captain of that failboat.
