I find this really interesting. So... since they haven't had gender reassignment surgery yet, she does him? But they have also been taking hormones for a few years; wouldn't the hormones have rendered their parts unusable?

Considering that they want to have kids using his eggs and her sperm, wouldn't the hormones have stopped production of their original sex cells? Does that mean they had them frozen before hormone therapy? Add to that the fact that they want to have surgery before having kids, that opens up another pandora's box. Surgery obviously does not create a uterus or ovaries, so that means either he will carry the fetus or they will use a surrogate. But he won't be able to carry because he will become a man down there so he won't have a birth canal. Anyway he is using testosterone so he can't get pregnant to begin with even if he retains his birth canal.

This is like a GRE/LSAT Analytical/Logic question, someone work this out with me. The way I see it, she can't get pregnant because she doesn't have ovaries or a uterus. He can't pregnant because he is taking testosterone plus he won't have a birth canal after surgery. Surrogacy is the only possibility I see. Anybody?
