On a different note i'm continually amazed at the battery life on this thing. Got back from an hour run using runmeter+pandora and batteries down to 95% from 100%. My 3GS would have been in the mid to low 80's.

i don't like belt clips, but they make tons of them for the previous iphones and i'm sure some will be out soon for the new one. have you not seen them before?

Is it just me or is shazaam a complete piece of shot now? It use to work great, then all of a sudden can't tag anything. Same thing for both 3G and v4. It worked great under all conditions on an old Sony Ericsson so I am not sure what changed.

I switched over to soundhound when Shazam went to paid usage. I think soundhound has done that too now though. Never really had any problems with either though.

I think it did, but then they said if you had already downloaded it before a certain date you were ok, or something. I dunno. Whenever it (whatever it was) happened, I downloaded Soundhound and never looked back.

I've had shazam for over a year. Today it just told me I only have 5 free lookups per month. Is Soundhound free? It looks like it's the same as shazam. Only 5 free.

for those of you who have been carrying an iphone 4 around for a couple weeks, how's the screen holding up to scratches?

i won't get mine for a couple weeks but am thinking ahead. . . i am not convinced that a screen protector isn't needed and am inclined to put one on, even though it will kind of take away from the purpose of the retina display.

^^No issues here either. I don't think a screen protector would interfere with the display. I had one on my 3gs and you couldn't tell it was there. I don't see why this phone would be any different.

My 4 has stayed quite scratch free without a case or a protector. I worry a bit about it, but it's been fine. I take it mountain biking also, set it generally face down on the table, etc.

Mine's also scratch free and it's been 30 miles out in the ocean, to the beach, to the pool, in pockets with all sorts of various things, etc.......I think this new glass is extremely scratch resistant but the same super hardness that makes it scratch resistant also makes it really prone to cracking if dropped. Moral of the story, scratching isn't much of an issue but whatever you do don't drop it on a hard surface.

So, has anyone noticed that clicking links in safari is a little less accurate since going to 4.0? Maybe it's just me, I can't seem to find anyone else that's had the same issue, but I'm finding it harder and harder to accurately click the links (most notably on TWW) ever since updating to 4.0. I notice it on the 4 too. It's not to the point that it's a huge problem, but it seems like I almost never am able to click the correct link on the first try any more, and I was always pretty amazed at how easy it was to do that previously.

I've used the invisible shields before and for some reason they really annoy me. They distort the screen pretty bad. It's just very evident there's a screen protector on it. Whereas with the generic ones you get at the apple store it's really hard to tell there's a screen protector on it.

which is kind of retarded since there is a skype app that's clearly approved. I imagine the skype app should work with the video camera too and let you have video skype chats with (presumably) anyone else with a webcam + skype.

i've never had any screen distortion problems w/ zagg shields. i've put them on 2 ipods and my iphone 3gs, as well as my dad's iphone. you have to fiddle with it for forever to get it just right.

^I guess i'm just saying after having one on both my ipod touch and my iphone i could clearly see that it's on there and slightly changes the way the screen looks. I've noticed it on everyone elses phones too with invisible shields. Maybe I just have good eye sight but I like the generic ones that you can't even tell there's a screen potector on it.

Today they approved a bunch apps that allow you to use the LED on the iPhone4 as a flashlight. There are a ton of them at $.99 but the two that are free are called LED-Flashlight and LED Torch Flashlight.

Yea I just hope the camera and skype will play well together. I have seen Skype say that they have no intention of using FaceTime, but I don't know if that is a requirement from Apple or not.
