I think we do understand, and for the most part, don't give a shit. It's not like Trump hasn't deleted emails or otherwise obscured evidence in his myriad of lawsuits. Bush's administration 'lost' millions. This is American politics, where everyone at the top is a shady little shitbag. Unfortunately for the citizens, it's up to us to pick the most palatable shitbag to 'lead' us for 4 years.

I'll admit where my beliefs are unreasonable, and that mostly centers around the whole trans thing - my mind may be made up on that one, I'm pretty intransigent.
But most other things, 10 years ago I was very right of center, and I've moved closer to moderate. I've never liked Obama's views, not because he is black but I still hear that argument so much it makes me sick. As a matter of fact, when I was supporting McCain, and then Romney, all my Democratic co-workers could ever tell me was that I didn't like him because he was black. No. That has nothing to do with it. I don't agree his ideals.
I didn't want the Bush bailouts of '08. What did Obama do? More of the same. I don't know if I've ever seen a more pro-banking administration. Which makes sense now after the latest Wikileaks.
I was afraid that the promises made during the sell of the ACA wouldn't work out - I feel like I've been mostly vindicated on that part. Yes, there are many more Americans that have healthcare, but at what cost? We might as well have put the Constitution through a paper shredder for that one. Americans being forced to buy something from privately held companies??? And then have the nerve to call it a tax? Thanks Roberts! I'm glad that pre-existing conditions are covered, and I'm glad that the unfortunate have a better option for healthcare, but it is emptying out my wallet and the wallets of many other middle class families.
I was unsure of his foreign policy, and looking back, it hasn't had a great track record.
But look - I was too young to care about politics during Clinton v1.0, and I was too involved in coursework and weekends to really get involved during the early Bush years, so really, as a close study, Obama is the only president I've paid much attention too.
If Clinton wins, I'm sure I'll be critical of many things, but I'm going to try to keep an open mind. If Trump wins, well, I guess I'll just have to start digging that fallout shelter. 11/7/2016 12:02:05 PM |

I asked these questions in another thread and the only answer I got was "He didn't throw a bunch of people in jail.". So I'll ask again: What specifically has Barack Obama done to help bankers and if he was so friendly to them, why did the financial sector overwhelmingly support Mitt Romney with their donations in 2012?

There's selflessness, and then there's having to pay an extra $1000 for premiums, plus larger deductibles.

Let's not forget that - and I'll specifically work with NC here as it is what I know- that the state refused to even think about using a state marketplace.
Now I'm not saying that we would have better rates - we very well might be right where we are now - but by relying on state policies only, we have opened the door to having less options to begin with. Kind of a no-brainer that over a few years we would lose the smaller companies due to being bought out or not being profitable.
Overall - the ACA absolutely needs to be tweaked, if someone actually floats a better possible option (repeal does not count as what we had was antiquated and even more of a quagmire) then I'm all for it as well - but I have yet to see anyone actually produce another option.

No, mine went up 4800, but the folks that had the better plan, theirs increased about 500/pay period, which is 24 installments. I had to choose a cheaper plan with a higher deductible to come that close to what I was paying.
But hey, I was supposed to save 2500, remember? And don't give me that crap about "well, it woulda went up more..." He was very specific. He didn't tell me that I would save 2500 vs the annual increases we're seeing..." He said I'd save 2500. And now my insurance is increasing nearly half that. 11/7/2016 3:03:46 PM |

You answered the question already. Letting the industry get away with destroying the economy is enough evidence. With all of the crimes committed, most of them were paid off in fines.
