when i was in high school, around the time david blaine became popular, i got all over-excited from watching the show and said something to my dad to the effect that maybe he was for real. he did the kind of thing where you just stare at somebody who just said something really stupid, but can't think of anything appropriate to say without being a jerk. i immediately felt like a dumbass and have carried that knowledge with me ever since.
