curious, do you do any cardio on your non gym days?" |
lifting 2x week
running 2x week. Usually 3miles somewhere between a 5.0-6.0mph pace
i need to buckle down and put in a 3rd run day. Work has kinda taken over my life.
I'm moving this month to centennial campus, i'm planning on doing some running around the area/lake once I get settled in
my goal is to run 10mi/week. i'm getting ~5-6
as far as cal intake, i'd say 2k/day is about what i'm getting. When i'm exercising regularly it's enough to sustain ~1lb/week in weight loss. If i'm not doing any exercise I need to cut down to 1500-1600/day but that's about the bare minimum I can handle not eating and i can't keep it up for a long time, so the exercise let's me eat more to make me happy. Not to mention i've made some seriously significant changes to my diet in terms of what i eat day to day and what i've stopped eating
cut out soda completely, If i have to have one it's diet otherwise i get water. Stopped eating any fast food burger places. I look much closer at the nutition labels before I order things when I do go out.
for instance: #8 billy club at jimmy john's is ~800 calories. It's my favorite sub there
get it w/no mayo and it's down to 600 calories.
Plus it's a large enough sandwich I can eat half for lunch and the other half as an early dinner, go workout at the gym, then when i get home have a protein shake and a small snack (PB&J and a banana usually) and i'm good for the day.
i also wanted to add that i downloaded teh calorie counter app for the droid. That thing has seriously helped me watch what I eat and track my weight since day 1
got it march 10th and weighed in at 215.5. I was 206.5 this morning. It has a large database of nutritional information, barcode scanner, and exercise tracker to monitor fat, carbs, protein, and calories in vs. out. Just keeping a better eye on what you're eating day to day is a huge advantage to getting in better shape

You can't work your way from one body type to another
Similar as to how you can't tan for so long that you turn black
You can change your appearance and composition, but the underlying metabolic base will always be there 5/6/2010 10:24:23 AM |

haha john goodman
endomorphs are more or less easy gainers in both directions, fat and muscle or anyone who can be over 200lbs without lifting weights...ectos can't power through, despite what Quinn says
i'm an endomorph too but i don't think fat, i think strong...all the strongest [natural] men in the world are going to be endos...although it is relative, of course a "strong" man weighing 400lbs is going to be stronger than another "strong" man at 180lbs. So weight classes are needed for the mesos/endos to compete.
Quote : | "i was fat and lazy for 26 years of my life" |
think of it as a 26 year bulk...don't beat up yourself(too much)...always keep a positive outlook when losing weight...i always try to enter the gym with the mindset I'm the biggest and baddest motherfucker in there...GDI am I a meathead?
sounds like you're doing just fine with dieting if you're seeing results weekly. Just don't have that cheatmeal for 10 weeks. Power through, if you're eating carbs consistently, a cheat meal really isn't going to help anything other than anxiety from the perpetual dieting. Buckle down and power through the 10 weeks. You know the lifestyle it takes to diet, its just 10 weeks of that and you'll be able to maintain after you hit the goal. I cheat/binge too often and just yo-yo recompose but when I really buckle down and power through, the results are impressive. I bulked up to 230 by mid May only to hit 203lbs as of last friday. It is fun to be fit and active though, you can eat so much more than normal and not be affected too much by your gluttonous exploits.
just wait til we have genetic enhancements available for height, albeit it will probably have to be germ-line, i guarantee we'll see enhancements like this(and myostatin inhibition, double muscles) within the next 15 years5/6/2010 10:58:23 AM |

Physical Info: 123.5 lbs (last I checked two months ago - probably more now), 5' 7"
Did all this despite haven taken ~500 calories in cough drops due to this stupid virus I've been fighting. Unfortunately I had to skip leg day. Working out while sick sucks, but to me skipping workouts while sick is much worse -- I'm not going to let a random virus destroy all the gains I've made thus far.

^ Last I weighed over 2 months ago I was. My body fat percent last I checked was 7.5. I am probably closer to 128-130 now with probably the same body fat percentage. I have noticed body weight exercises such as dips and neutral grip pullups getting slightly harder. I am assuming this would be due to the added muscle weight -- I mean I am able to lift more weight now than I was two months ago.
When I started exercising 1.5 years ago I was 185 lbs and 24% body fat -- not pretty for someone 5' 7".
I'll have to use the scale / body fat measuring machine they have at Lifestyle and post back. 5/6/2010 9:41:36 PM |
