^^lol that IS true though. with my wife's iPhone4 i can replicate the drop issue, but only in lower coverage areas. in high signal areas it doesn't change

Any phone will drop some signal if you wrap your hand around it like a gorilla (the way Apple was showing in their demo pictures at the press conference), the problem with the iPhone 4 is that it doesn't take a gorilla grip it only takes a touch in the wrong spot. Fact is I've had every iPhone since the first came out and I've never had to be conscious of how I was holding the phone until the iPhone 4.

Did anyone really expect a recall? For dropped calls? We're not talking about a battery exploding here or a car's gas pedal sticking. No one ever died from a dropped call. Assuming they still fix the hardware at some point in the future for new phones, this is about the most logical response Apple could have issued.

I'm content. Sure they were arrogant and came off as assholes, but the end result is a free bumper or case as a fix to the issue, with an ongoing effort to potentially fix the issue. If you aren't content, they will allow you to return the phone for a refund. They have not yet worked out a hardware solution, so what is the point of recall?
