for those of you who eat out a lot...I'm looking for the best Reuben sandwhich in town.

i've had good and bad ones all over town.

Jason's Deli has a gigantic one and its pretty good.

Macados has a pretty good one.

Eddies Place has one that wasn't very good at all.

thats just off the top of my head.

NC State vs. ECU Game Viewing Party

Hard to believe, but it’s been a nearly a month since our last away game! Join the Charlotte NC State Club at our game viewing party headquarters:

Cans Bar & Canteen (uptown Charlotte)
500 W. 5th Street (corner of 5th and Graham)
Charlotte, NC 28202
704.904.0200

Kickoff for the 25th overall meeting between the Wolfpack and Pirates is set to commence at 4:30 p.m. Club leaders will be present with prizes and giveaways. Let us know you're coming. Email jasonlaws@alumni.ncsu.edu so that we can get a good headcount.

Should the Miami and Wake Forest games be televised, we will list reminders in future emails as well as post them to the Charlotte NC State Club website.

Quarterly NCSU Alumni Luncheon – Dr. James Zuiches

Join us at the Charlotte Country Club on Wednesday, November 7th as we welcome Dr. James Zuiches, the Vice Chancellor for University Extension, Engagement, and Economic Development at NC State. Dr. Zuiches is a very dynamic and engaging speaker, and we are grateful to have him join us. Details for the luncheon are to follow. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please contact Seth Hudson at shudson@worldpatents.com.

What is the Charlotte NC State Club???

We are the Charlotte Area chapter of the NC State Alumni Association not the Wolfpack Club. We are NOT a members only organization. Although we do promote membership, we do not require you to be a member of the NC State Alumni Association to attend any of our events. The Alumni Association is an organization of alumni who have a strong affinity for NC State. Our fundamental mission is to foster opportunities for students, alumni, faculty and those interested in NC State to become actively involved in enriching the University community, both now and in the future. We are the major source of alumni-related activities, a voice for all alumni and an advocate for NC State. Members of the Alumni Association pay annual dues ($40) and are actively involved in promoting excellence of the University through general alumni activities and university programs. Members receive, among other benefits, a subscription to the quarterly alumni magazine NC State, discounts to Alumni Association reunions and events and discounts for NC State Alumni Collection merchandise.
Are you a member of the Alumni Association?

Membership dues are used to support a variety of Alumni Association activities, such as membership programs, alumni events, scholarships, awards to our Alumni Distinguished Professors and NC State's students. Alumni can now join or renew their memberships by calling 1-800-NCS-ALUM or online on Raleigh's secured server at http://www.alumni.ncsu.edu Please make sure to mention the Charlotte NC State Club. Be sure to check out our new member and discount programs at the Alumni Benefits page - the list is constantly growing!
Future Emails

If you enjoy receiving our newsletters and you feel inclined, please forward this email or tell a friend who is an alumni or supporter of NC State about the Charlotte NC State Club. In the future, all email addresses will be pulled from the Alumni Association database. Please make sure that your contact information is up to date by going to the secure http://www.alumniconnections.com website. You will be asked to Register for access to the Alumni site, however you are not required to join the NC State Alumni Association (although we hope that you consider doing so). This will take less than five minutes, but will be incredibly helpful to our efforts in keeping You informed about Club events!
GO PACK!

Quote :
"A typical muffuletta consists of one muffuletta loaf, split horizontally. The loaf is then covered with a marinated olive salad, then layers of capicola, salami, mortadella, emmentaler, and provolone. The sandwich is sometimes heated through to soften the provolone.[2]

The olive salad is considered the heart of the sandwich, and consists primarily of olives, along with celery, cauliflower, and carrot. The ingredients are combined, seasonings are added, covered in olive oil and allowed to combine for at least 24 hours. Prepared olive salad for muffulettas can also be bought by the jar in New Orleans grocery stores.[3]

The muffuletta is the signature sandwich at the Jason's Deli chain[4] and also at Murphy's Deli[5]. Schlotzsky's chain of restaurants features sandwiches using sourdough muffuletta bread.
"

^I've only been to the one on Sharon Amity once, we do a lot of business with a GC that has their main office right there next to eddies.

but we have a lot of projects going on near Johnston Rd. where the new eddies is located, so ive been there three or 4 times.

Most of the more chill bars are in the neighborhoods around uptown. In Southend alone you have Ed's tavern and Tyber Creek for chill bars. Those are my local haunts. Also, check out Thomas St., Big Bens, etc.

In uptown yo could try Connely's...
