My TiVo was smart (or dumb, really) enough to try and tape the entire marathon despite that I had all those episodes already in my library. I'm sure it was trying to tape copies for you in its heart of hearts.

For some unknown reason I stopped watching BSG after the first 2 episodes of this season but I left them on my DVR. Then last night I ran out of better things to do so I decided to watch all the episodes I hadn't seen. I just finished up with the last episode and came online to see how long I'll have to wait before seeing the end of the cliffhanger.

Imagine my surprise when I found out I only have to wait 7 hours. Lucky me.

Great start, but I really didn't like the execution of this episode. Too much covered too quickly. I am really starting to hate how the Cylons started out as merciless killers - humanity's children out to correct the mistakes of their parents - and now they don't really seem to know what they're doing.

Since the spoilers I've been reading over the past several months have been 100% correct up to this point, I shudder to think how I'm going to feel about the rest of the season if the remainder of them pan out as literally as I think they will.

This episode wasn't spectacular, but it was good.

I hope they get on with the finding-earth aspect of the story. I do think the Cylons have been pussified a tiny bit, but not as bad as the Borg or species 8472. They still will probably treat those new prisoners like crap.

I don't like the whole aspect of destiny either, but that's a personal bias of mine. Was Starbuck's drawing introduced at any earlier point in the series? I don't remember. I kind of wonder what the significance of that is.

And the whole Apollo/Starbuck thing is definitely getting a bit sickening. This is probably an artifact of the supposed mormon themes of the original though.

also that picture on the link of baltar in a resurrection pod is actually from a dream sequence according to something i read. So taking that literally may be a bit premature.

I have to admit that I am intrigued that the Colonials have Baltar back in custody, along with another Six. I am going to be highly disappointed, though, if they write it in such a way that this one has memories of what happened with the one on the Pegasus. That could be a major plot hole.

By the way, the images of Baltar in the resurrection tank are not what they appear to be.

Has anyone else been checking out the producer commentary from Moore and Eick? Some very revealing things in it...

and yeah i bet the cylons will get back to their roots now that xena is gone. The old guy was talking about it before the break, how they could just wipe out the humans now once and for all. btw i think he is my favorite cylon. He has the best lines "we come in peace" and "take me to your leader"

The episode was way fast, the whole Dee/Starbuck thing was done well but I feel too little time was put towards it. I guess that's what the next episode is for.

And I'm glad we see a dynamic part of the Cylons. How lame and utterly boring if all what was going on was to find humans and kill them? We would not have had such a great story line if that was the case. Clearly the producers are thinking longer term with a good round story.


But seriously, who are the other 5? Important people? Bit players?

I was pleasantly surprised that Baltar, the baby, and another 6 model managed to get back onto Galactica. This will allow for more interesting plot ON BSG. Because lets face it, besides starbuck and Lee, nothing was that interesting anymore.

I'm starting to think that baltar might be a cylon. I think that's why Xena said i'm sorry.

Although if starbuck can have a destiny, then Baltar can too, and not be a cylon (so the six in his head might be a mechanism of god).

And maybe this was explained already, but how do they cylons no know who the remaining 5 are, if they made them?

^ i really dont think he is the "chosen one". That is just his self obsession playing out and invisible six is his subconcious confirming it.

i dont think the final 5 are just normal cylons like the others. there has to be some parallel with them and the 5 priests relevant to the temple of 5, which was built by the 13th tribe long before the cylons were ever invented.
