I know you meant Noah instead of Noel. Don't worry. Anyway, if it was the time to make the lottery this might be the year with all the big guys coming out early.

i have said it before and i will say it again

if we draft Joakim fucking Noah I will no longer be a Bobcats fan

period

i cant stand him and I dont think his upside is as high as Wrights... but he would need to go on Weight Gain 5000 before he will be a force, and i dont even know if he will come out or not...

^^ haha yes i did mean noah.... clearly not referring to david noel

^ Why? He's a real energy guy that would pair nicely with Okafor i think...

here's an excerpt that i like referring to him

Quote :
"Q: This is what you wrote about Joakim Noah in your most recent blog: "He's a winner, he's always in the right place at the right time, he always makes the right decision on either end, he doesn't care about stats, he's immensely fun to play with and he makes 5-6 important plays per game that will not be reflected in the stats." Couldn't that exact, I mean EXACT, same thing have been said about Shane Battier in 2001? Do you still think Noah should be a top-four pick knowing that?
--Neil A. Johnson, Peoria, Ill.

SG: Hell yeah! What's wrong with Shane Battier? Is he not having a big enough impact on Houston's season for you? He's the most underrated Intangibles Guy in the entire league -- you can't measure him by stats, you can only measure him by watching the games and seeing all the little things he does from game to game. And he's a fantastic locker room guy. That's why I was such a big proponent of the Battier-for-Gay/Swift trade last summer. If you did the 2001 Draft over again (which was seriously loaded, by the way) and every team got a do-over for its pick, here's how the top 11 would go:

1. Wash -- Gilbert Arenas (No. 30 originally)
2. Clips -- Pau Gasol (3)
3. Atlanta -- Tony Parker (28)
4. Chicago -- Joe Johnson (10)
5. G-State -- Mehmet Okur (37)
6. Grizz -- Zach Randolph (19)
7. Jersey -- Eddy Curry (4)
8. Cleveland -- Shane Battier (6)
9. Detroit -- Jason Richardson (5)
10. Boston -- Gerald Wallace (25)
11. Boston -- Richard Jefferson (13)

So let's say Noah evolves into a more talented, big man's version of Battier ... why would this be a bad thing?"

"Okay, okay, I take it all back what I said a few games ago about not wanting Vince Carter. I would take Vince Carter. Hell, I’d take Jimmy Carter at this point, if I thought it could help. I’d do anything to avoid having to endure another game like last night’s debacle in Portland. Once again without Woods and Prior—I mean, Okafor and May—the Bobcats were blown away by 37 points, their second-worst deficit ever (and that’s saying something; in terms of severity, it’s comparable to DMX’s second worst run-in with the cops ever). For a large portion of the second half we were down by over 40—40!—man, I want to drink my 40’s, not trail by them.

Every Rose Arena has its thorn, and for the Bobcats it was LeMarcus Aldridge, who scored 30 points on 12-19 shooting (and sat most of the 4th). Of course, it’s hard to miss when every other shot is an unopposed alley-oop. I already compared our defense to a bowling alley last night, so where do I go from there? The Maginot Line? Arena football? Saddam Hussein’s lawyers? I’m taking requests. Martell Webster (20 points) also steamrolled over the Bobcats’ crumbling infrastructure early and often, and the only remaining suspense after the first quarter was when commentator Matt Devlin would realize that Webster’s first name wasn’t “Martin.” (answer: with ten minutes to go in the second quarter, but give Matt credit: he then jokingly asked if Martell “was Daniel’s brother,” and it’s that sort of brilliant humor that lets me laugh through my tears.) Meanwhile, Zach Randolph (20 points) picked his teeth with Primoz Brezec and Ryan Hollins, and I think it’s safe to say at this point that Brandon Roy (14 points, 9 assists, 8 rebounds) has the inside track on Adam Morrison for Rookie of the Year.

Then, to put the icing on the turd, we learned that Okafor is headed back to Charlotte to get an MRI on his calf and may be gone 6 weeks?!? What in the world!? I never thought of the calf as a very sophisticated part of the human anatomy. What is it with this team and seemingly innocuous injuries that end up knocking out players for weeks? Sean May has a sore knee and he’s out indefinitely, Brevin Knight pulls his groin and they end up cutting out his stomach…Jesus, at this point, I’ll just be happy if they find out Emeka doesn’t have cancer.

I guess we’ll all be getting a good look at Hollins then. He had 6 points through the first half, but he didn’t get any more after that, and unfortunately his fouls caught up and eventually tied with his scoring. And where was Derek Anderson? With all those young guys on the Blazers, they should have been ripe for some of Anderson’s veteran bamboozling. Instead: 0 points in 7 minutes? It was the worst “DA” performance since Mike Nifong.

Forget it, this hurts too much. I’d rather think about something less depressing right now, like Darfur. I just hope I can contain my excitement until the Bobcats next game on Sunday in Seattle. Will we be able to stay within 40? Will we at least hold the Sonics to under 30 points for one of the quarters? Will Okafor need to have his leg amputated? Tune in to find out…"

This was something me and rally argued people at the beginning of the year. Roy is going to be a beast, I really wish we could have gotten him.

^Roy didn't want to play in Charlotte and while it would be nice to have him, fuck 'em.

and WTF Felton? 3-10 last night? .382 FG% on the year. That is bloody awful.

i'm sure a lot of other coaches would've had much better success in the first 3 years of a brand new franchise

I mean what did you expect from the Bobcats? If we had a different coach this year would our record be that much better?

How many wins is a team supposed to get in its first couple seasons? Seems like mid-20s is about right

Personally, I'm for this, even though sooner or later we're gonna be UNC Pro version (especially if we were to draft Wright).

if K doesn't leave for the Lakers, there's not a snowflake's chance in hell he'll leave for the Bobcats

and I think Bickerstaff has proven over the years that he's not capable of building a long-term consistent winner, ~1000 games and a fourhundredsomething-fivehundredsomething record oughta be able to tell you something

If we spend $3-$5 million a year to get Larry Brown but we won't spend $10 mil to re-sign Gerald Wallace or $14-15 mil to get Vince Carter I am going to be PISSED

Maybe pissed enough to find a new team.

Fuck a coach, any old ast coach around the league will do. We need PLAYERS

look how well random guys like D'Antoni and Avery Johnson are doing.

I guess I can understand some of the Brown-bashing (no, I'm not talking about the ACC title game thread), but as I said before, I see Brown as a coach who can elevate our level of play from a basement dwelling doormat to a borderline playoff team. Stages people, stages.

Obviously we need some more elite level talent. Tell you the truth, do we even have what most would consider an "elite" caliber player?

Quote :
"Look for Brown on Bobcats sideline

Asking around recently about the Bobcats' coaching vacancy — Michael Jordan last week said that Bernie Bickerstaff won't be back on the bench next season — brought the same response from several sources whose opinions I trust: Larry Brown wants the job badly and likely will get it.

Brown has been classically passive-aggressive about the Charlotte job. He is happy, he insists, as executive vice-president in the basketball operations department in Philadelphia, where he made one of eight stops in an NBA coaching career that has produced 1,010 victories (he had 229 wins coaching two ABA teams), but little contentment. In the next breath, Brown says he has not heard from Jordan and has no idea if Jordan is interested in talking to him about the job that will open in Charlotte at season's end. Then he adds that he would have a hard time saying no to Jordan if Jordan did ask him to coach the Bobcats because, well, he loves Jordan and would have a hard time saying no to any request.

It's a Carolina thing.

Jordan isn't saying much about his plans to hire a new coach. He has not handled the situation in Charlotte with any sort of finesse. In a letter assuring season ticket holders the club was committed to doing whatever it takes in the future to put a winning team on the court, there was nary a mention of Bickerstaff, merely one of owner Bob Johnson's first hires after he was awarded the expansion franchise. Bickerstaff was left to twist in the wind. At least he knows now what most of us suspected after he was omitted from the letter about the club's future.

Curiously, Jordan insists he wants Bickerstaff to remain involved in the basketball operations of the Bobcats. In what capacity, he won't say. But will the new coach really want the old coach hanging around the office? Especially if Brown is the new coach?

Why would we want Larry Brown?

He moves to a new team every two years and isn't even THAT good of a coach.

Look at the Knicks.....same team as last year and yet what 7 more wins already under Isaiah, who is an awful coach.
