why is he the one carrying the "water bottle" and not one of his flunkies?

What a dumb move by Vick...he's surrounded by controversy wherever he goes, whatever move he makes.

he was probably going to try and throw it in the trashcan from 15 feet away, but then he instead ran for the trashcan

Oh my god a black athlete smokes weed im so surprised

Where's the news here?

I never said he was a good quarterback because he abstains from smoking pot.

How immoral of him though right!!?!?

^^ It's about him being behaving suspiciously, causing him to get busted. He's an airline spokesman for goodness' sake. He of all people knows the 3oz rule.

Or put another way,the Golden God made yet another stupid decision.

You're not about to sit here and justify this.

yeah, his weed smoking doesn't make him any worse than he actually is, which is an average quarterback at best, and that's being very generous.

it's funny actually...vick could make a huge contribution to the falcons if he gets busted for weed and can't play. would probably be the best move he ever made

^^^ No one cares if he smokes weed or not -- and as of right now, [Vick fans] are using the tired "we don't even know it's weed yet" out... and I'm willing to grant that for now.

THIS IS NOT ABOUT HIS RECREATIONAL HOBBY FOR FUCK'S SAKE.

It's about Vick, a spokesman for an airline and a guy who KNOWS the 3oz bottle rule, showing his ass because he doesn't want to give up his bong/"water." His actions were very stupid and with all the questions surrounding his leadership skills, this was NOT a step in the right direction. For the mea-culpa-let-it-pass he wants from Falcons fans for flipping them off, this was NOT a step in the right direction. Given that he was on his way to meet his new coach, a coach who will not baby him like Morrie and Reeves did, this was NOT a step in the right direction.

^^ the NFL can punish Vick from any number of angles regarding this.

They can't say "oh go do 30 hours of CS and attend anger management classes."

but whatever. He's about to "I know I'm bad" his starting position away.

I don't even like Vick, but this shit was blown way out of proportion.

what about the player who had a fucking armory of unregistered weapons in his house, and his bodyguard or buddy got murdered. that was good for about 5 minutes of coverage.

but let's make a big deal about a water bottle that may or may not have had weed in it.

^ That's not a bad trade for either team.

Its obviously a great trade for the Raiders because they get rid of a player they are getting no use of (Porter) and a player who is criminally underutilized (Moss) because they have no QB to throw him the ball.

The downgrade from #1 to #10 isnt that big of a deal since they can still get a (less expensive) impact player.

From Atlanta's perspective they go from having perhaps the worst WR corps in the league to one of the better ones. (assuming Moss & Porter play for real)

Schaub is unproven, but there's no reason to think he couldnt be competent with that WR corps. Moss, Porter, Jenkins, Finneran, Crumpler.... I'd cut ties with Roddy White & Ashley Lelie.

The only real problem here is what does Atlanta do with the #1 pick? Joe Thomas(OT), Jamal Anderson(DE), and Alan Branch (DT) fit their needs the best but #1 is kinda expensive for one of those guys. Perhaps they could trade to someone looking to select Quinn or Russell and add other draft picks...

I agree that's not bad for either... with oaklands terrible line if they can just slow the opposing dline and let vick escape to either side he "might" contribute

meaning vick is the only quarterback I really seeing as having a chance to succeed in oakland

and the falcons can test schuab to see how good he really is, while either drafting a high profile qb or a puzzle piece impact player

I called the Oakland making a play on Vick a WHILE ago, glad to see they saw it like I did.

Both teams would benefit, but even with Moss and Porter, I wouldn't be suprised if Atlanta drafted Calvin Johnson first-round. Moss and Porter haven't performed at the level they are known for for some time now, so passing on potentially one of the best WR's in a while might be a bad move.

I could see ATL countering with:
Oakland's 1st(#1 overall)
R. Moss
Oakland's 4th(not sure) - likely try for 3rd and get rejected

For:
M. Vick
Atlanta's 1st(#10 overall)

That would leave Schaub some targets:
Moss, Jenkins, Crumpler

But you need a solid #1 in-case Moss moves to a #2 role or gets hurt(as he has a lot the past few years) so with the #1 pick they take Calvin Johnson or they trade down for multiple picks and look at OL and CB help. I'd say safety but Milloy was pretty good last season and D. Hall played like crap for a "premiere" CB.

As a Panthers' fan wouldn't you WANT Vick out of Atlanta since his record against Carolina is like 11-3????

^ Atlanta's record vs. Carolina is 11-3 in games in which Vick has played. That doesn't give ownership of that record TO Vick. Making this trade makes Atlanta a much better team. As a Saints fan I'm just as worried.

My question is... who would Vick throw to in Oakland?

They have been in fucking Oakland. No WR could perform good there. Atlanta would be crazy not to take the trade as it is offered if Oakland is willing to do it. Hell, they should throw in Roddy White and Jenkins or 2 WRs just to make that happen. Then draft Jamarcus #1 and let him sit for a year behind Schaub or draft Calvin Johnson and have him and Moss tear it up in the ATL with Schaub as the QB.

Oakland has two high-profile WRs that will get moved, meaning Vick will basically have you and I to throw to... again. And we'll be hearing excuses about "oh but he has no wide receivers" again. and the Raiders' TEs are garbage, so there wouldn't even be THAT fallback.
