While I'm not happy to see Kevyn go (and I'll be wearing my KAds jersey a lot this week, I suppose), Seidenberg is SOLID. He can run the point and is better in his own end than Hutch, and we'll need some of that if and when Tanabe realizes that he's Tanabe.

Yea that deal would be unacceptable especially considering the game that Cole had on Saturday night. I think it is still too early to be pushing the panic button. I'm real sad to see Adams go.

trading cole would be the worst mistake jr could possibly make. cole is the only person on the ice that has the ability to singlehandedly score goals and take control of a game

What would trading Cole accomplish? more defense for less offense? last time i checked it was putting points on the board that was killing us.

And this could be a very good trade. Well see how this pans out in a few weeks. I say up front good move. Get younger and healthy, and get more experience under this kids belt for the playoffs.

fyi i loved k.a. it sucks that we had to let him go. he was one of the best ambassadors for hockey in Carolina and Raleigh ever.

Yeah as nice a guy as he was to the fans, he was apparently a distraction in the locker room. It wasn't a coincidence that Aaron Ward "accidentally" punched him early in the Rangers game here back in November.

as right as you are, i think you can count Brind'Amour in there. There were some games in the playoffs where he just decided he had enough and totally changed the game. He may not have been the one burying the puck (though he did a few times) but he knows how to will a team to win when he wants it badly.

1. Adams is in the last year of his contract.
2. His minutes were down to nearly nothing, his penalty killing had been taken over by Chad LaRose (who I believe is still on his rookie contract), and he never mustered the jump nor the (shorthanded) scoring that we had seen in years past.
3. We played with five D against Isles because that's all we had. We need D, period...we don't need forwards who don't play.
4. Eric Staal has only been in the pros for three years. Is Kevyn Adams worth more than he is?

While this is certainly true, the fact remains that in a game that features a lot of killing, the lack of a full third pair to fill minutes would really hurt us. As it stands, in games where we're behind the bench is cut to three lines with a shift or two of LaRose for energy. In those games, KAds was getting three or four minutes at MOST. We're losing almost nothing from the gameplan and gaining defensive depth that is needed right now.

Phoenix needs an energetic killer who can take important draws. They got that and we already had that. We needed a sixth defensemen. We got that and they still have it.

The time has come for this team to make a run. The next seven games are against Southeast Division teams. Five of those games are at home, and there is only one back to back (and it's against Washington, so they will have the same disadvantage). Atlanta is stumbling, and the Canes are only 6 points back right now. If they can put together a good run here through the all-star break, they could be in excellent position going into February when the team *should* (knock on wood) start getting healthy.

Yeah, I had a dilemma too, but I need the class to graduate and I'm going to have to suck it up and show at 7:30 every Tuesday and Thursday game.

Definitely upgrade to DVR, it's the best thing I've ever done. If I have to work during an away game and I read on the boards that it was pretty boring, I can look through the goals and penalties in about 20 minutes and be done with it...it'd take at least twice as long with the DVR.
