haha, i agree it is a one sided rivalry, just the reverse of what you are thinking. i grew up in g'ville. there were still people wearing shirts about the peach bowl when i was a senior in 99. those people HATE nc state more than anyone, which doesnt really make sense when you think about it b/c we were the only ones who would ever play them. then they decided to riot on our field and get pissed off when we ended the series. then they get the fucking state leg to force us to add a FOURTH nc game to our schedule since they our pissed they don't play any in-state opponents.

the difference b/w playing unc and playing ecu is that w/ unc i love to see us win and hate to see us lose, whereas w/ ecu, i hate to see us lose b/c of the way those pricks act, but if we win, it is just another win. i would just prefer never to play ecu whereas if we somehow stopped playing unc every year, i would be pissed.

I enjoy playing them every year. It will be even better if both of us every become top 25 in the country. HELL I think it could happen. Imagine Gameday for ECU vrs NC STATE in greenville or Raleigh. I think that would be a fun weekend. No matter how old we end up being ha.

^Whoever said that the "rivalry" needs to be played for something is right. It's not really a rivalry right now, considering that we're not even playing for pride/bragging rights, or a conference win, or any small thing that can almost make a rivalry.

ECU plays for pride and bragging rights, sure, but NCSU is just happy to pull out another win (at least this year), regardless of who it's against. They'd be proud of a win against [insert any NCAA team here], "in-state rivals" or not.

jmpack, i wouldnt go that far to say you are the better team. that game could have EASILY gone the other way. just a few plays determined that game along with a few bad bounces.

and the better coach? that is yet to be determined. 3-4 years you can argue that...yes i understand these are chuck's players and look at what BC is doing...yadda yadda....i do see State going back to 8-10 win seasons after looking through the recruiting thread.
