1. Jordan, Isaiah and Bird were great basketball players
2. Jordan, Isaiah and Bird (not Bird as much as Jordan or Thomas) are horrible front office execs

Though I do both admire and respect the players of the past, I think it's important to focus attention on the players that might actually play a game within the next year, rather than those that might further torpedo a franchises playoff hopes.

Let me make this clear, Jordan was far and away the best player of his day. Kobe is, far and away, the best player of today. We can clearly see that since Jordan's heyday of the 90s that the league has gotten more athletic, more talented, and tougher, so I don't see why it should be so outrageous that it's a little early to be writing Kobe off as the best player ever because of one Finals loss to a stacked team.
