haha im just kidding. Im not really one to talk about whether something is in 5/4 or 10/8 etc. I def get some of that mixed up. I mean I can play in them, but I might call something 5/8 when its really 10/8 or something.

But I think that a lot of the metal you are listening to that has 6 beats per measure is probably 6/8 rather than 6/4 but I could definitely be wrong.

And as far as using time signatures goes, I definitely think using stuff other than 4/4 on a record is important, otherwise things get stale, but I get bored also at times if stuff is 6/8 or the likes all the time. I like to try and mix in4/4, 3/4, 6/8 and then add some other things sparingly like bars with 5, 7, or 9. Really tends to keep things from getting repetitive and makes parts stand out, even if you just do it a handful of times on an entire album i think.
