vidic's first yellow was total BS...he should be on the pitch still...not that it would matter, hes played great in the back but no one has done anything for united up top

[Edited on October 25, 2009 at 11:54 AM. Reason : hopefully evans will be healthy against chelsea...lol mascherano with a red]

[Edited on October 25, 2009 at 11:56 AM. Reason : nani just got crushed by carraghers 4th over the top tackle of the game]

rooney shouldnt have started today. he was obviously not at 100%. he shouldve came on as a sub. ferguson needs to stop being gay and give owen some starts. rooney cant play every fucking game of the season

worst form in over 20 years...

no gerrard...

torres' first game back after an injury...

and none of it makes a damn bit of difference as the Mancs are yet again Liverpool's bitch. It had to suck to see Lucas running your midfield like that the entire game

[Edited on October 25, 2009 at 5:08 PM. Reason : Lucas]

It sucked more seeing the ref basically blow him for 90 minutes. If anyone should've been sent off, it was him, not Monster Masch.

Don't let your pride swell too big - he's still shit, he played a shit game, and the ONLY reason he seemed to do well was because the ref seemed to look the other way on all 600 of his mis-timed and poor challenges.

It was people like Carragher, Kuyt, and Torres who kept Liverpool on top - not Lucas Lolva.

lol, I was just trying to wind you all up... I'm still not convinced he's anything better than a squad player for Liverpool but he had a very good game today. Don't let your pride and the fact that you've shit all over him (deservedly) ever since he arrived cloud the fact that he was simply better than what United had to offer in central midfield today. He did not win them anything - Torres obviously did - but he still had a very influential game, even if it was mostly due to the fact Mascherano was everywhere in behind him. I'm not convinced he was fouling as much as all you United fans want to say either but I guess I can't say much as I'm obviously biased so we'll just leave it at that. I will agree that Carra probably should have seen red for the tackle on Owen just to prove I'm not a complete hack.

If I were a United fan, I'd be more concerned about Ferguson's tactics. What took him so long to change up a midfield that obviously getting nowhere? And for all the talk about Liverpool's thin bench... what makes United's so much better? Where are they going if Rooney goes down? Nani is their saving grace off the bench for the midfield? All I could think about after this game was that this may trim the margin between these two teams but Chelsea is out on their own for a reason... they're miles above any club right now.

I will readily admit that we didn't do the business today, and that's down to Scholes being too old and too slow, and Carrick being too timid.

Berbs had a shit game, and to be honest, as much as I like Rooney, we can afford to lose him for a game or two. What we can't afford is seeing shit games from Berbs, or for him to get hurt. As much shit as he gets, the game runs through him, and I feel like he is without a doubt the most important player United has right now.

Our midfield is especially thin right now without Fletcher, who is shaping up to play the role Scholes is too old to play... and I can't give you a good reason as to why Anderson (who has been improving by leaps and bounds) didn't play today.

As far as Chelsea goes? Getting Joe Cole back will help them in the long run because he is an absolute magician with the ball, but I think that they don't have the legs to make it the full season at the top. Essien, Kalou, and Drogba will all be gone in January, and two of those players (Essien and Drogba) are impossible to replace, especially if they can't sign anyone in the January window.

@ Hull
Sunderland home
Brum home
@ Burnley

Not exactly the most deadly of fixtures in January...

All I'm saying is the rest of the league better up they're not up 8 or 9 points by Christmas because I don't see them slipping enough to lose a lead like that.

Dang I missed some good games today because of work and sleeping in. I didn't manage to catch the end of the Manchester United game. Looks like Loverpool has their number right now.

On a side note the Super Clasico had a pretty sweet goal and a saved PK.

brad guzan saved 4 out of the 5 penalty shots he faced today in aston villa's win against sunderland in carling cup. saved 1 in the 85th minute i think to help keep them tied with sunderland, then saved 3 of the 4 pk's he saw in the pk shootout after extra time.

lol we just have so many good keepers, it's easy to mix them up

seriously though, I'm excited for Guzan because he's learning under one of the best Premier League keepers of all time, who just happens to be American, on a team that's looking like it will hang around the top half of the league for a while. And when he gets his chances, he always seems to take advantage of them so not only is it good news for his club career, it eases the worries for US fans if for some reason we lose Howard for some games

I know it's just the Carling Cup and we probably won't see much more than a 'B' squad thrown out, but Liverpool-Arsenal is going to be on at 3:45 on espn360.com... also Chelsea-Bolton.

Yeah, I'm going to try to catch some of this. I want to see Aquilani play... I'm assuming he'll see some minutes in the second half.

^^ yeah, I can't find any highlights either. But I did find this, which is pretty cool - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aeCE3f6OvXo

I caught the last 30 minutes or so, pretty entertaining game

I liked what little I saw of Aquilani, hit a really nice cross field pass, tried a bicycle that Senderos stopped with his arm... pretty encouraging in his first game.

I don't understand why Lucas takes so much shit from everybody when Babel has clearly been the most disappointing player Rafa's brought in... he sucks so bad

I don't think you understand me. I am not saying it was one of the greatest (although it might be). My post was in response to the fact that I hadn't seen shit, not my opinion on the goal.

Which was one of the greatest goals in the history of the North London Derby.
