the insane influx of noobs is pissing me off beyond belief.. they have no clue what to do in Rush maps. they don't even disarm the damn MCOMs for fuck sakes! the only benefit is that my K/D ratio is skyrocketing cause these noobs cant aim or shoot worth-a-shit.

on a side note, not too happy about the server issues EA has been experiencing since the Vietnam release. they still have YET to get the stats back up and working and there are loads of lagging issues being reported everywhere. i've experienced the lagging problems and while sometimes it is bearable, other times it has just made me quit playing all together for the day.

I'm glad to see that someone else feels the same way.

On that note, I am learning to love the 870. If you see the enemy team going apeshit with flamethrowers, switch to Medic, switch upgrades to Heal Rate and Heal Range, then grab the 870. You're almost flamethrower-proof if you keep a first aid bag at your feet at all times and keep the bad guys from getting right on top of you.

One last thing - look at the stats for the guns. (You may need to reload the page for the graphics.) Some of them (I'm looking at you, M16) are ridiculously good when compared to their BC2 counterparts.

i'm one of the noobs. i've played BF2 so i understand some of the concepts, but i'd like to get into a game sometime with some twwers and actually use some strategy/learn the maps and new concepts.

PC gaming noob here.

I recently got a new computer that I figured would be able to run this game. Today when I fired it up there was bad framerate lag, even on low settings.

PC specs:

2.8 GHz AMD Phenom II X4 processor

ATI Radeon HD 4250 graphics card

6 gigs DDR3 memory

Based on the minimum and recommended specs for BC2 I assumed my PC could handle it. I wasn't running any other applications while playing, and I'm guessing the graphics card might be holding me back. Any advice would be appreciated.

for super quality you need a 4850 or a 5850 or better (gonna cost you)

what resolution are you running? did you turn down the graphics already? turn off AA and AF

I just made sure I had everything set to the lowest setting and it seemed to be better. Graphics isn't that big of a deal to me anyway, and I'm getting better frames per second now.

I can give you tips like mad on Rush mode, as I almost exclusively play that. Conquest, not so much. Single best tip I can give is to COMMUNICATE with your squad. A group of 4 guys working together can completely wreck an entire team which isn't talking.

I am lovin this game. Up to lvl 10. Bought the spec-ops pack (6 bucks), thought it was more maps, but its actually new "specops kits" to use (for the information of all the noobish out there). Good side effect of this mistake is that I get to use the M16A2 with laser scope, much better than what I was previously rockin.

Yeah, I've been playing this game too much lately, Finally made lvl 40 and really busting my ass to get my kdr higher. My new fav map is harvest rush. I've basically figured out how to cg snipe the first UAV station as a defender. It's funny because everyone things I'm cheating when the first 30 seconds and I rocket the uav guy in the head. lol

I've also been doing the sneak around and wait for the attackers to move up while I steal their uav station from their old base. I've gotten a lot of laughs with that tactic now.

honestly, it's a much more heavy cpu intense game. If you don't have the cpu power, don't matter if you have a $400 card in there, it's gonna net you very little gain. I saw almost no improvement on my e6600 from an 8800gts to a 5870. Same goes for black ops, but I think they changed that a bit better with the patches, since that game was only using 30% of my gpu, although I was still getting good frames. I didn't notice a difference till I pulled my resource monitor and it was hovering around the 30-40% mark.

anybody having issues with all your stats/awards/insignias/weapons not showing?

VIP and Vet status are still there, but I'm LVL 0 with no score and no kills

just got a new PS3 and migrated my save data and DLC, and it all worked a few days ago, but not today

I noticed the first time playing the Vietnam expansion, it showed everything as level 0, but everything is back to normal for me.

They've been having some issues with the stats servers since mid December. DICE claims that with more users added because of BC2 Vietnam and all the added load from 3rd party stat websites has put undue stress on the stats server infrastructure. Everything should have been fixed by now as the stat websites are back up and running. Although I do still notice from time to time I'm lvl 0 on PC as well, but a quick restart of the game fixes it for me.

Personally, I've been addicted to Civ5 since I got it for 5 bucks after promo and gift cards. 120 hours in a week. Their "just one more turn" ads were damn fucking right. lol

I think the issue of the stats debacle has been over for a while a moot point, but still a fun game. I still got an extra copy from the steam sale that I'm offloading for 7 bucks. Just posted up on CAG so probably won't last.

you are right about the influx of noobs but the amount of servers are been slowly dwindling. when the game first came out there were 3000+ servers and now there's a lil less than 2000 and it seems the number decreases slightly every few weeks. i understand it is now an "old" game and all but still sucks that servers i played on (and that were awesome to play on) are now gone

you can blame black ops people for that. Shit my clan dumped bc2 in August, went back to mw2 till black ops came out. I was pissed since I don't have mw2, I really like bc2, and honestly I don't like BO at all. And as a clan, we did so much better in bc2 than cod.

I'll have to hop on bc2 tonight when I get home and see if my fav servers are still up, but it's only been a week since I've played. Been trying to get my kdr above 2.0, which means a lot of cg, uav and gol whoring. :p
