Talk to a real Canadian about that healthcare. I worked up there for a few months and most Canadians who actually have a good jobs and can afford health care wished they lived in America.

As for hockey, fuck Crosby and Canada.

"Hockey drew NFL-like ratings on NBC Sunday.

The Canada/USA Olympic Men's Hockey Gold Medal game drew a 17.6 overnight rating on NBC Sunday afternoon, up 46% from the '02 Gold Medal game, which featured the same two teams.

Overnight ratings for the 2006 Gold Medal game were unavailable.

Sunday's game is on pace to finish as the highest rated hockey telecast in the United States since 1980.

To put the numbers in perspective, Sunday's game drew a higher overnight rating than every World Series game since 2004 (including every game of Yankees/Phillies last year), every NBA Finals telecast since 1998, and every NCAA Men's Basketball Final Four game since at least '98.

Excluding the NFL, the 17.6 overnight for the game is the second-highest of the year for any sporting event,, behind only the Texas/Alabama BCS National Championship Game in January (18.2)."

Miller played off his ass for the whole tournament. Now that it is over though I hope he has a career worst in the following few months as the Slugs make a playoff push. Luongo didn't play very well and was letting rebounds pop off his pads all day long. The Canadian defense did a pretty good job to push the USA players to the sides of the ice so they couldn't cut down the middle for any rebounds though. I do wish they'd do a continuous 5v5 OT in the medal rounds though. They can do 4v4 and shoot outs in the qualifying rounds if they want to cut down on time though. The ratings were really good though, that's good to see.

Also I think it should be said on every single page of every single hockey thread. SIDNEY CROSBY IS A GIGANTIC VAGINA. That is all.

At first I thought we were gonna win it when it went to OT, but as soon as you could see we weren't getting any decent looks on goal, I figured the Canadians were going to win. I was just hoping it was going to be anyone but Crosby.

I hope the 'Canes watched the Olympics and saw what is was like to see a whole team that could pass and skate instead of the crap I watch in Raleigh.

Just rewatched the game because I was bored..

I must say, hockey in the playoffs and in the olympics is by far the most entertaining and exciting sport in all of the world.

Now NHL regular season is a different story.

Even though we lost, that game was pure and simply intense and amazing.. those guys made the country proud. Miller is a beast (too bad he plays for the Sabres, i can't stand them)

The NY Times ran a story about water usage in Edmonton during the gold medal game. I guess the only downside to commercial free hockey is the lack of bathroom runs you can make.

^^ I saw that as well.

^If only it'd been true it wouldn't have hurt nearly as badly.

And lawls at Russia for attempting to ship Cindy Crosby's stick to their country to place in some sort of hall of fame. . .
