You guys are pretty dense not to recognize sarcasm. jbrick83 I imagine as one of those overly serious people when it comes to football. He probably spent 20 hours preparing his fantasy football team and stares at statistics for random teams all day Sunday.

I stopped doing NFL fantasy about 4 years ago (although I'm big NBA fantasy participant). I also watch NFL sporadically...although I do try and catch every Chargers games. But Mondays are pretty much worthless for me as I watch a shit-ton of Sportscenter and watch highlights on nfl.com and read all the articles on the game. But nice try.

Brady has been underwhelming. And with Moss now gone, he wont be getting much better. You can only do so much surrounded by a bunch of small, old, or white receivers.

Brady played like garbage against the chargers. Did you guys watch the game? He was inaccurate as hell. Should have been a damn blow out.

The Chargers just reached a deal with Vincent Jackson but he can't play until the 28th of November, too little too late if you ask me

Good win for the Chargers against a quality opponent. Hopefully this will get them going. Another big day statistically for Rivers. Need the Chiefs to realize they are the Cheifs and start sucking now.

It's not like I expect the Bills to win, but that game would have been HUGE if Buffalo could have pulled it out (I fucking hate the "timeout before the kick" shit).

Chargers might need a Broncos-like collapse Chiefs. It's not quite the position they were in a couple years ago (Broncos 6-0, Chargers 2-5 I believe??)...but it's close.

I think the most talented team in the division is THE RAAAAAIIIIIDDDDUUUHHHSS but they will inevitably find some way to fuck it up. Chargers still have a legit shot if they start going for it on 4th down every time and going for two after every score.

no, if rivers was truly an elite QB he would have found a way to win even if that meant throwing the ball towards the end zone and outrunning the ball to make the TD catch himself.

But since he has not been able to find a way to win those 5 games, he is really just a middle of the road QB.

http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/2...jury-revealed/

Quote :
"Antonio Gates was wheeling around Wednesday on a scooter that kept his right foot off the ground.

That’s the opposite foot from the toe and ankle injuries that were known to be hobbling him the past two weeks.

In the second half of Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans, a game in which he caught five passes for 123 yards, Gates popped the plantar fascia in his right foot. Plantar fasciitis is the ailment for which Gates sought a medical opinion in May, but it had not bothered him this season until he attempted to compensate for the injuries around his left foot in the Chargers’ Oct. 24 loss to New England.

“My (right) foot was on fire,” Gates said of the aftermath of the Patriots game. “It was so bad, it was like my toe and ankle didn’t bother me anymore.”

The breaking of the plantar fascia actually allows for healing, eliminating the tightness with which Gates had to play against Tennessee. The plantar fascia is a band that runs from the heel to the toes and works with the arch of the foot when the foot pushes off. The tearing is extremely painful.

“It’s the worst feeling in the world,” Gates said. “Sometimes you feel your career is coming to an end.”

Monday, Gates had to be driven to his car in a cart because he couldn’t walk.

Dr. Phillip Kwong, a foot specialist with the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic, said people find it difficult to walk for two weeks or more after tearing a plantar fascia."

Jesus, wtf is up with the injuries. It says he's going to try his best to play but I don't see it happening.

VJ
Floyd
Naanee
Gates
Davis

Top 5 targets, all out. They have a bye after next week so hopefully they get most of the players back.

SI had a good article this week on the special teams. Extra attention was given to the chargers who have flubbed special team plays that are normally taken for granted (i.e. punting the ball, making 39 yd FG's, managing to tackle the runner during kickoffs) to dig themselves into the 2-5 hole. The special teams coach for example has had more punts/kicks blocked this year than his 9 years of being a special team coach.

Another intersting fact is that the two punts blocked (both for points to Oakland) during the Raiders game, were the result of the same back-up linebacker applegate (sp?) missing his coverage assignment.

Moss is a cancer and not nearly the player he used to be. Not to mention that Norv would never be able to control him. By the time he got up to speed with the offense, VJ would be back and Floyd and Naanee would be healthy. The Chargers, as cheap as they are, aren't gonna pay 4 million dollars for Moss to be a temporary injury fill-in.

Gates is probably gonna play through an injury (torn plantar fascia) that would keep any mortal man out of the lineup. He will probably be just a decoy, but the Texans would be crazy to ignore him. He played the 2nd half of that Titans game with the injury, and he played well. It is apparently all about pain management with that particular injury; most people can't even walk for 2-3 weeks after tearing the plantar fascia. Shoot his foot up with painkillers and hope he can do something, I guess.

The Chargers just activated Steve Gregory, back from a 4-game suspension. He was maybe their best defender their first 4 weeks, back when they were forcing turnovers and playing much better pass-defense. Hopefully he helps them break their ugly streak of 4 straight games without a forced turnover.

Moss would create unneeded personnel issues just when the Chargers need to come together the most, even as depleted as the Chargers receiving corps is. Everyone raving that Moss gives a deep threat to make room for Chris Johnson forgets that Vince Young still needs to get the ball there, and his fragile confidence will probably be destroyed when Moss the inevitable shows up.

At this point he is no more valuable than TO.

[Edited on November 7, 2010 at 1:01 PM. Reason : there is a reason the Titans made the ONLY waiver claim for Moss]

Until the Chargers can the ST coach, they may as well go for it on 4th ANYWHERE on the field not in FG range. 4th and 2 on your own 20? Getting stopped short is better than another blocked punt or punt return TD.

Crayton tried to give the ball away, 2010 Chargers style.

Forward progress should have been stopped before the fumble.
