spam up Smithing and Enchanting if you're having trouble. Dragonbone is a huge step up from Glass and I don't get randomly one shot by random Briarheart assholes or archers. Enchanting for magic resist - spamming it up isn't bad.. just pick up crappy soul gems and enchant the crappy gear you make from smithing. It sells really well too.

Destruction is awesome if you stack enough of the reduction, and the damage isn't terrible. Moving on to 1h/shield, and I definitely see the appeal of it.

I got alchemy to 100, but I'd rather put a bullet through my brain then do that shit again

If I give her a frost and lightning staff of the quality that some of those mask wearers in the dragon wall crypts use Lydia can solo a dragon really, really quickly.

Just found what I assume is a pretty big glitch in Riften. At the meadery ask the guy at the desk about Maven. Then pick the persuade option. You will get Speech XP. Repeat for half an hour, or however long it takes you to get your speech up to level 100.

I have a hood that gives me +30 to magika which puts me at 130 magika. It says the cost of the spell is 130 but it still wont let me cast it.

She had a conversation option for a shout when I spoke to her. Eventually the main quest line sends you to the college, so that might have been it.

The Mage College quest line was disappointingly short. My level 15 apprentice mage was all of a sudden Archmage of the college.

You should have to do more work to get this rite.

I'm continuing to just hunt down words of power by asking the head guy at High Hrothgar where they are. I just want to be able to pass to the summit and talk to the Master. Still can't tho..

I also killed a dragon and didn't get it soul for some reason. Stupid glitches.

^ You can only learn the words to pass through the storm by doing the main story quest, it's not a random word you learn in a dungeon

I've done the thieves guild and the dark brotherhood. WOW. I play a stealth onehanded/bow character and I am invisible (literally if i use the thief quest spell) when i sneak, and oneshot bosses at lvl 30 with my dagger.

Yeah, I put a soul binding enchantment on my dagger so I'm never short of full soul gems. It's really great being able to kill draugr deathlords in one hit. I'm so sneaky that it's rare that I actually have a stand-up fight with enemies.

I do need to go find more words of power. I think I'm sitting on 7 or 8 unused dragon souls.

I stopped doing the main quest and I just revisit the guys on top of the mountain over and over again so they'll give me the location of another word. They only hand out one at a time. I'm sitting on 17 unused souls, but I'd need 25 souls to unlock all the words I've tracked down.

I'm in that classic standoff, save the points because I don't want to "waste" any on a shout that ends up sucking, but then end up wasting all the points because I never use any. I need to read up on the best shouts. Some like make animals flee, etc. sound worthless.

that sound worthless. The fear ones because I think it only works on enemies of a certain level - that's to say you could shout and the result may very well be a big fat nothing since the enemy might be a higher level than you though. And the detect life. I guess I don't see the point behind that one. Sneak and skulk around and you're bound to find the enemies - they are confined to certain areas after all.

Kyne's Peace has helped me a bit when I go sprinting through a forest and come upon a huge bear right in front of me. I freak out and hit KP and he's all mellow. A few times after that, when he turns around, I sneak and stab and pick up the bear pelt. There's some lady somewhere that wants 10 of them. (can't remember where...if anyone can help, that'd be great because I think I have 15 pelts in Breezehome)

I already returned to this guy for the bounty and go it, but its still in there and shows a marker on my map that is nowhere near where this guy is. Going to him doesnt do anything either.

^^ 2 methods to get their location, shout in towns and get a letter from a courrier that tells you where to go (if you've already gotten that letter you need to do get that word before they give you another) and asking the greybeards who will tell you where to go.

I have 5 shouts in my inventory. Two of them are whirlwind sprint and unrelenting force...you know, the main quest shouts. Guess which shouts I was lucky enough to find ಠ_ಠ

You can set them up under spells, but you can't shout until you start on the main quest.

Just used whirlwind sprint all game to move faster. Sometimes helpful if a couple guys were about to power attack me.

I use fire a lot, probably will use frost now that i have it.

Whirlwind is awesome to close distances on asshole casters and to just move around quicker (especially in town)

unrelenting force is nice in groups to just spread them everywhere and interrupt what theyre doing.

Ugh. Been playing for 66 hours now and haven't had a single crash. Now I've had 3 in the last 10 minutes. I wonder if it's just this area I'm in or what. I even let the Xbox cool off for an hour and cleared the system cache, which I know was a problem with Oblivion.

This sucks.

Thats sounds like an xbox problem. My game crashes once every few real days or so. Xboxs tend to crash a lot more when they're dying.

The new horse i got is either buggy or knows about my history with horses...I went to that R-city where the thieves guild is headquartered and got that stablehand out of debt. At the stable I jumped on a horse since it was white text "Ride Horse" and rode it away no problem . However, now what happens is that whenever I get off of the horse, it starts walking down the path, presumably back to the stables. It will end up next to me when i fast travel anywhere even if i was no where near it..but still trots off lol.

It wasn't a robbery at all, hell the stable owner was right next to me. I guess its part of that whole "if you help someone, theyll let you take some of their stuff"

Yeah, I just took my game and HDD over to a friend's house and played for about an hour with no crashes. Then brought it back to my house and it crashed within the first 10 minutes.



Looks like I'm gonna need to go buy a new Xbox now.

^^^hahaha, louis letrush. i had 4 of him, he's definitely the best bugged npc. i've seen him many times randomly out in the wild, all of him, walking around, getting attacked by shit, standing in the open getting blasted by a dragon and not giving a fuck.
i was sneaking around labrynthian, 3 louis letrushs run in from nowhere and start punching a troll (and he can't die like that i guess, so that troll kind of freaked halfway through and gtfo'd). yesterday i was walking around in the reach and louis was finally killed by a bounty hunter (or thug?), seems to have fixed the bug for me.

i use slow time, marked for death, unrelenting force and throw voice a fuckton.

I just tried that and it didn't work. I got to the top of the mountain for the first time, and the dude at the top had literally been on my screen for .5 seconds when my Xbox froze up.

Without spoiling anything, that's a really shitty time for the game to freeze.

Oh well, 2 more days until I can play again.

Maybe this has been covered here, but it appears as though the "matching set" perk doesn't work. Full set of ebony everything. I get the 25% bonus from having all heavy armor equipped, but I don't get the 25% bonus from having all armor pieces match - yes, I've taken the perks.

I've seen reports that this may be an ebony armor specific bug or that the bug only occurs if you upgrade your armor. I've got all my ebony armor upgraded to 'legendary' at the moment.

Anyone else confirm this for ebony or any other armor types that are better than ebony, like dragon?
