I miss mine
FYI, there's a SC'd model with low-ish miles on CL right now. http://raleigh.craigslist.org/cto/4523084383.html
Or if you're trying to start with a good shell and (re?)build one, this 5spd hardtop base model one is the way to go. No leaky roof and no intermittent power windows/locks. They're actually pretty hard to find like this. http://greensboro.craigslist.org/cto/4491260395.html6/16/2014 4:35:01 PM |

Already have one, thanks
But if I were looking, I would not choose that shitbox. T top issues are related to 25 yr old seals, its not an unfixable issue when you come across it. Same with power windows and/or locks? Sounds like you had a real basket case if that easy shit scares you. 6/18/2014 10:38:14 PM |

New Audi S3 pricing announced, starts at $41,400.
292hp, 6sp DC, Quattro and 3200lb curb weight.
Further proof that the WRX STI is overpriced, IMO (Limited model is $38,500). 6/20/2014 9:08:37 AM |

There's nothing electronic about the exhaust beyond some bypass flaps. I didn't think people were against those. 6/26/2014 4:58:50 PM |
sumfoo1 soup du hier 41043 Posts user info edit post |
The interior of the m3 plays an audio track based on engine rpm. That's why I joked about the market research engine noise is what comes from the audio system in the car. 6/26/2014 7:24:52 PM |
carzak All American 1657 Posts user info edit post |
According to this, they revised it to only play a slightly amplified version of the existing intake noise, along with adding the bypass valves to make the exhaust sound more raw:
http://www.motoringresearch.com/car-news/bmw-m3-m4-engine-noise-98-real-0513943059
Regardless, you can't say it doesn't sound great. 6/26/2014 7:55:36 PM |

call me old fashioned-
If you've got to amplify the sound of a car via electronics to get it to 'sound good', well, you're doing it wrong. pussy-ass shit.
my truck grunts, shakes, whistles and moans all without the help of speakers. 6/27/2014 7:17:57 AM |

I just picked up a Focus ST a couple of weeks ago. It was the ST3 (fully loaded) package for almost $6k off sticker. It was technically used, but only had 700 miles on it.
Believe it or not, I got rid of my STi hatch for it. Of course the Focus isn't as fast, but the increase in mpg and the additional creature comforts make up for it. It also helps that they payment is $200 less per month. 7/17/2014 11:57:03 AM |

After having as subaru I couldn't go to another "hot hatch"
Because: rainy days were the best days of the week in a subie... And the worst in an equally powerful fwd. 7/17/2014 2:12:43 PM |

an old beater truck for $1k. Looked at several on CL, just haven't bitten the bullet. Mainly because most of the ones I like are 2+hr plus away, and I don't feel like driving 4 hours just to find out it's not at all what was depicted in the ad. 7/18/2014 2:33:46 PM |

ha. no need to pay thousands for an occasional use vehicle.
I generally like the 90-95 F150s, but my original thought was to get something pre-1980, dodge, ford, or chevy. Any suggestions? 7/18/2014 3:08:57 PM |

90-95 f150, i6, 4 or 5sp manual. those shits are rock solid - fuel injection,etc.
