This many high caliber stars/celebrities have never been out for the season in my lifetime. half of the top 10 teams (based on power rankings with everyone) have no shot of even winning a series because their best player got hurt.
Rose was arguably the best in the league and didn't even play a single down this year. Throw in Kevin love and most of the top 15 players in the league have spent major time out this year. On top of that, Denver and golden state have been decimated by injuries. Its quite Unprecedented.
It makes sense though. Last season's schedule was inhumane and wore them all down.
Quote : | "^ 1 game into each Round 1 series and the amazing E man has already declared it the worst playoffs ever. GG," |
Sure it could all be played with d-leaguers and it would still be competitive and fun to watch but people come to see all of the best players compete. The only reason some fans don't mind the injuries is because they already accept that the Heat will win it all since they are clearly the best team and don't have major injuries but for me, its not as fun as it would be if more teams competed at full strength.
The injuries just make it that much worse. I can already tell you the Heat will play the thunder in the finals not only because they are the best 2 teams but simply because no other team in either conference is healthy enough to compete with them. Its a 100% probability now instead of just "most likely"

agreed nobody knows how the players will pan out, even though a draft like 2000 for New England where they got Seymour and Brady did indeed dictate their fate for the next dozen years

the 03 NBA Draft didn't take place on a bball court but things like Lebron to the Cavs and Wade to the Heat were kind of important
