He played a lot last year and has really worked on his confidence. He's playing with great confidence, great effort and great technique. Backup: Charlie Twitty (5-9, 189, *So.) - Athletic former walkon who has earned a scholarship and worked his way up the depth chart. - Worked with the scout team as a wide receiver last season. Doesn't necessarily mean that Troy Vincent Jr. will be good, but like jbrick said, he was one of our most highly touted signees... Stevens not so much.

True, but Stevens is also a true freshman (who played WR more than CB in high school) and Twitty is a former walk-on that was on offense until recently. I'm not saying they shouldn't be where they are, because the coaches seem willing to play the best man for the job no matter who it is, it's just surprising

Hate being a Debbie Downer, but between our very weak LB core and what looks like a weak secondary, we may have a long season watching our D get torched again. D-line is going to have to consistently pressure the Qb for us to be successful. Especially early in the year as some of these guys gain some experience.

^^McClendon is #3 on the depth chart going into the season. Leatham will likely get any "mop-up duty" we're lucky enough to have this season.

I doubt you see McClendon this season unless Brissett goes down in first 2-3 games or he goes down later in the year and we actually have a shot at a bowl.

Coaches seem to suggest that McClendon is physically there, but doesn't seem mentally ready.
