i'm feeling so good about my $10:$2000 bet for us to win the tournament.

If you win that bet, you best be spending all of that on strippers and coke.

Is Freeman the new Howell?? He's becoming a rebounding beast...and only a sophomore. Not bad offensive output from him last night either. He's going to get 6-8 points a night just from put-backs at this rate.
11/21/2014 9:50:54 AM
they said last year thats the exact mold they wanted him to go after.and I think he is taller/more athletic than Howell, especially at this point.Love this team...hopefully they pick up the offense a little for league play but their defense (albeit against scrubs) looks good.
11/21/2014 9:59:29 AM
RH had that touch around the rim though.
11/21/2014 10:07:58 AM
Only his senior year. Before that he was a rebound machine but put the ball down too much, couldn't keep a grip on it...he was a butterfingers of sorts.
11/21/2014 10:11:22 AM
^^This. ^KindaRichard (by his senior year) was one of the best players we've had in the past 20 years. Lofty comparison for Nard Dog. [Edited on November 21, 2014 at 10:13 AM. Reason : a]

11/21/2014 11:38:45 AM
The thing to love about this team is how they get out and pressure the ball in the half court. They seem to have a completely different mentality on defense, even if the competition sucks to date. We've finally got the length + quickness + speed to force the tempo defensively. Cat, Dez, Lacey, and even Freeman can pressure the hell out of the ball with their quickness. And the three freshmen are all also quick and long for their size, which disrupts things. And if they get beat, we have Anya and/or Washington there to clean it up.Hopefully it carries over to the real teams, but I love it so far. Jackson State had FOUR field goals in the first half yesterday. That's insane.
11/21/2014 12:44:50 PM
i don't even know what to say about this team other than i'm giddy about watching them play again.]
11/21/2014 1:09:24 PM
^^ I think a lot of it is due to our depth, too. Besides being able to rotate a lot of guys in and out throughout the game, we had four guys on the bench late in the 1st with foul "trouble" (two each) and still had six decent players that could press on defense and not have to worry about getting another foul.

Weird..Herb was openly bigoted during his NCSU regarding mulattos.

he got Thurl Bailey's son, Nate McMillan's son, and Hersey Hawkins' son. wonder what sort of lies he must tell those parents

With regard to next weekend's games, can someone refresh me on purchasing men's basketball tickets at Reynolds Coliseum? Can they just be purchased a few hours before tip off? Thanks.

Purdue lost to North Florida....that's sure to help RPI taking a hit today with GT losing to USC-Upstate and Miami losing to Green Bay, although GB is decent.
12/6/2014 4:38:16 PM
given road games in the ACC are never gimmes, we have 8 very winnable conference games based on early season OOC results:Wake, @FSU, Clemson, @GT, @Wake, VT, @BC, @Clemsonhome games against Pitt and Syracuse are ones that we should probably be competitive in, too. @UVA, Duke, UNC, @Miami, ND, UVA, @Louisville, @UNC will all be tough, even if UNC and Miami in particular seem to be inconsistenthoping that with no WTF losses in that first group (big assumption), we can be at least .500 in conference picking up a win somewhere else along the way
12/6/2014 4:43:21 PM
11 ACC wins gets us dancin in Marchyou heard it here first
12/6/2014 5:12:36 PM
I see 11, but you have to account for at least 1 wtf loss so I'm saying 10-8

FYI for the Reynolds games - the three middle sections of the upper deck (both sides) are reserved this year. Also, you can get tickets to both games for $20 through GoPack.com or the ticket office. 12/18/2014 9:44:43 AM
Abu with a solid game last night. Looked much more in control than usual imo. Keep workin on those FTs though.
12/18/2014 10:38:55 AM
Abu is a beast athletically...and it appears he has good touch...I just think he needs more time to get acclimated to this level of play. As the competition gets better, we're going to need a little more production out of our post players...hopefully he can be one of the guys that gets us that production.
12/18/2014 10:47:38 AM
I would love if he could develop a face-up game. He has the quickness, strength, and athleticism to get there.
12/18/2014 10:50:11 AM
I like that he wears shorter shorts than the rest of the guys.
12/18/2014 10:53:36 AM
Hopefully that gets Abu's confidence going. He has potential to be an absolute beast, and he seems to have a good shot. He just looked a little lost out there in the early going. Probably just thinking too much instead of playing. Was Freeman sick? Crazy how little he played last night. I still think he's our best all-around big man at this point. Best rebounder, decent jump shot, best touch in the post, and best at hedging screens (by far). He also just doesn't make mistakes with the ball in his hands, unlike our other guys. If Abu's going to take anyone's minutes, it should probably be Washington -- unless it's one of those rare games where he's shooting lights out.
12/18/2014 10:57:44 AM
All the big men in general need to work on running the floor better and getting post position sooner. With all the attention Turner and Lacey are attracting, the lane should be wide open. Not criticizing either, I think the offense is coming along nicely, but there is still a lot of obvious room for improvement which is a good thing.
