Can anyone give me a brief explanation on why Will Wade is a defacto great hire? His resume, to me, doesn't jump out to me. I see two fine seasons at Chattanooga and two successful seasons at VCU, but aren't those with Smart's recruits? I have not seen anyone second guess having him at the top of the list. What am i missing?

His Kenpom numbers are good on both sides of the ball, he's a fiery personality that won't back down (to Duke, unc, media, etc.), he's a grinder, he did great with a team nobody expected to win this year (sic), and what you're missing is he's a great recruiter and defensive mind and that he basically was responsible for Shaka's success in many ways (evidenced by Shaka sucking at Texas). His teams also have a reputation of playing extremely tough.

Those are the arguments so take that with a grain of salt.

^^he's the one that supposedly invented Havoc D. he's also brought in some of the best, if not the best, recruiting classes VCU has ever had in the short time he's been a head coach and he was directly credited with many of the top guys from his time as an assistant too. Matt McCall inherited Wade's team in Chattanooga.

^ it doesn't mean anything. But its an easy way to start the rumor or fuel speculation that the picture was taken yesterday since there's evidence he wore that shirt yesterday.

Being he's the Dayton coach and has loads of Dayton gear, he probably wears the shirt multiple times/week. But yeah...it doesn't mean anything. But I can totally see why somebody could wanna connect those dots.
