Man, I wonder what kind of shit you'd get in from Apple for pulling a stunt like that. Something tells me they won't be allowed to submit any more apps under that developer account.

So...the MapQuest app is pretty cool. Its free, turn-by-turn, and reads street names. Its not bad until Google gets their shit together and brings their turn-by-turn to the iPhone.

I can't help but think that the result of the handy light sneakiness is going to be that apps start taking much longer to be approved, Apple is probably going to start combing the code in much more detail than they have been

all of our iphones have no signal. i called at&t, they said they have a power outage in raleigh b/c the heat and all gsm phones are completely out. they've been out for 6+hrs and don't know when they'll be back up. they need 12 rectifiers, and they are available, but they're scattered across NC & SC, with no ETA.

another one of my brother's buds in raleigh says his phone works now. my brother's iphone is working out in NE nash county. mine still doesn't (rocky mount). chris's regular flip phone doesn't work here either.

the chick said they'll slowly ramp up the power or whatever. maybe it just takes time to warm up again, hopefully not too warm though.

My wife just got her custom skin for her iPhone4 from http://www.gelaskins.com/. It turned out really well, and comes with skin for the two long sides of the phone, so it alleviates the antenna issue. I'm probably going to get one, just can't decide whether I want an NCSU theme or what.

also, I haven't had any reception issues at all here in Garner today.

The Skype app just got the 4.0 "background" update.

But no video chat (yet?) I really wonder what took so long to get this released. They had background support back in April when they debuted 4.0. I really was thinking the video chat was the holdup. Guess not. :-/

Man, the connectivity of the skype app blows. I was hoping to be able to use it almost exclusively to call/text with my parents but I can't seem to get either one of our phones to stay connected to skype. Lame.

^ I haven't had problems that bad, but I do feel that the Skype app is lacking. I was using it in a cab the other day and finding some problems with it sending my chat messages. (3GS)

^^^ No idea yet, but I'm not expecting much. Two weeks ago when I started making it, there were no apps that did this. Fast forward to yesterday when it got approved, and there's at least five. Plus, I mean, it's not super functional--my main goal was just to get something submitted and approved so I could get through the process, see how it works, and basically just get my feet wet. I know I was the only person to buy it before midnight (yeah, I bought my own app), but the reporting seems like it works on a day to day basis so I won't know anything else until tomorrow. I'll be psyched if I sell enough to get me some Bojangles or something. It's probably going to be at least six months before I get one of my other projects finished, so I wanted to get something in there and just see how it goes.
