yes, we just need to get back on TOB's level and we'll be fine. maybe we can lure him out of retirement to be our lead recruiter.

stuff on PP and twitter now makes it seem like UNC may have bent the rules a little bit (hard to believe, I know) in accepting Hughes' teammate/friend (Squires) as a walk-on given his academic standing. makes more sense now if that and/or the QB thing are true

Feel like this happened as well. UNC has no D coordinator and UF just hired a new coach like 2 or 3 weeks back.

This was always going to be a small class considering we filled up on quality depth last year and had like a 28 man recruiting class. Would be nice to close it out with Frasier to have RB's for the next few years of a great mix of true RB's and then have Dayes/Hines in the mold of slot guys who kind of do everything.

2015: Thornton, Gallaspy, Frasier (Dayes, Hines)
2016: Gallaspy, Frasier (Dayes, Hines)
2017 & 2018 : Gallaspy, Frasier (Hines)

The people using the conf ranking over and over are retarded. In that ranking the number of commits matters as much as the quality. If you have 30 3* vs someone with 5 5* and 5 4* it would rate the class similar

^ We had the number 7 recruiting class in the ACC. Anyone who thinks that the recruiting this year is bad is crazy. We don't need to have 6 people at every position. We have full depth now, we are just recruiting the positions that we need people to play good at. Hence the current recruiting..

**Also, we're ranked 5th right now (both this and last years according to 247sports) with 3 four stars and 13 three stars, so we are getting plenty compared to the rest of the ACC.

This is all about PT guys for Hughes.

NC State:
1. Return entire 2-deep at CB.
2. 49th ranked total defense in the NCAA.
3. 28th ranked defense in passing yards allowed per game.
4. 11 total CBs on roster, no seniors leaving.

UNC:
1. Return entire 2-deep at CB.
2. 116th ranked total defense in the NCAA.(yes out of 125)
3. 105th ranked defense in passing yards allowed per game.
4. 7 total CBs on roster, no seniors leaving.

I mean, from strictly a chance to see the field early, pretty clear which one you'd pick. If that's the biggest thing for the kid, hard to fault him for that decision. I simply fault his logic to thinking immediate PT is better than earning PT and being pushed in practice by talented players.

Would be hilarious if they go to a 4 DB base defense when the new Coordinator comes in and playing time gets competitive. Something I would have probably waited to unfold before committing. Best of luck to this young man and his scholarly pursuits.

How much playing time will you average when the NCAA comes in and shutters your football program for a season?

That's kinda like a red shirt, right?

Our punt/kick return units were so weak this season I can't wait to see Hines back there. We put Bo Hines back there on punts just so he could catch the ball and not turn it over. There was zero threat of a return.

Bra'lon Cherry looked decent early in the year but muffed a few punts and then Bo took over.

^I think you might mean Roseboro...he originally committed to UM. And...maybe, I don't know. Although I saw a quote from him yesterday or two days ago saying how he was 100% committed to State or something. So who knows.

He tweeted

Quote :
"For everyone that keeps asking I will not be considering Michigan again I am firm with my commitment to state I believe in this program!"

Roseboro is enrolling early and has already said he'll be heading to NC State after the All-American Bowl. He's 100% solid, just Michigan fans hoping all of their de-commitments will come back because of Harbaugh.

PP headline says "Late Decision From Fraiser" I'm not a premium member, but I would guess that's good news for us the he's holding off on making anything official for right now. But I also don't think that's unexpected at all either...think I'd read where everybody expected him to probably not announce till NSD

^What I find strange, is that he's "committed" and yet he still is "announcing" around signing day.

He has 2 official visits set up, and neither of them are FSU. But I'm sure after watching tonight's game, he sees a chance to play early if he can just hold onto the ball.

Yeah he's been "committed" to FSU for a while but everybody that is apparently in the loop believes it a pretty soft committment and that he's still very much open to other schools. It is kinda odd.

sadly, Hines didn't get as much run as alot of the other East guys got. But he made plays when he got targeted. Just glad they both made it through this healthy.

all indications are that expected early enrollees Darian Roseboro, Reggie Gallaspy, Freddie Phillips, T.J. McCoy, James Smith-Williams, and Riley Nicholson (along with Cole and Bambard, the greyshirts mentioned earlier) have made it to campus, but juco OL Daris Workman either hasn't yet or won't. not real sure what's up though since I don't have premium on packpride and they posted the story.

I figure Frasier won't say anything until National Signing Day or at least until the week of. He's taking 2 OVs this month(Alabama, NCSU) so definitely nothing before that.

Would be a heck of a positive note to end on and a nice exclamation point on the 2015 class if he were to flip to us on NSD though.

I don't understand why so many old folks are so against Debbie Yow. My uncle and his friends keep talking trash about the teams (especially football since TOB was fired) and how we're wasting money on the fball indoor facility. I don't see what they don't like. We finally are recruiting good players, getting better facilities (again), and doing decent in our games.

Roseboro had offers from Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Michigan. Michigan State, tOSU, etc. He picked us.
McGirt had offers from Florida, Georgia, LSU, Penn State, etc. He picked us.
Hines had offers from Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Notre Dame, tOSU, etc. He picked us.

Now we're competing for Frasier with the likes of FSU and Alabama.

We're definitely having success on the recruiting front getting guys that most teams in the country wanted. Not sure why anyone would be down on our football program right now.

^^^^i can definitely see why people were down on football through about 1/2 of the 2014 season though. doeren was 0-12 in the ACC. but the last couple of months has certainly helped sway opinions about. finished 8-5, beat unc, finishing out a strong recruiting class.

Exactly! I think he's just bitter because of TOB getting fired. He said all the stuff Yow is doing is only because of her sister (like that makes any sense). He's hard-headed.....and old school traditional.

Didn't ask...but I think that was announced after Christmas?? So over the holidays...that's when he always expresses his dislike about the program now. I ask him if he went to a particular game and the response is always, "They're lucky I even watch some of them now from home.".

I saw someone post about it on PP (and someone else w/ a screenshot of his name in the directory) but it still seems unconfirmed.

In other news, Mike Hughes (who was expected to enroll early at UNC) has not yet done so.
