You aren't missing anything. It was all the reporters asking the right questions and watching Baddour almost break down to tears and Thorpe squirm and deflect.

Nothing was really new, except that Baddour is going to step aside for 1 year then resign and that they were paying Butchie the buyout of 2.7 or something.

Joe Ovies and JP Giglio brought the heat and asked great questions about the timing, why pay the buyout, etc. to no avail.

Thorpe replied that timing would be bad no matter when they did it, etc. similar answers.

Yes he did, I read between the lines and the tone of his last "I said he didn't know Jim". It was implied because he wouldn't come flat out and say "yes I expected him to know". That's how I took it.

Exactly true, still a government record regardless of where he is now. One important aspect is that now butch doesn't have the UNC lawyers backing him and he could be found in contempt and get fined or thrown in jail if he refuses to comply.

^^It sounded like he was going to stick around to handle the NCAA investigation. Thorp mentioned a few times how he didn't want anyone other than Dick at his side while in Indianapolis.

And it's not so much as a resignation. His contract is simply up come next summer.
