as far as our DL recruits/commits, it always seems really tough to figure out who is suited for DT vs. DE (and they shift around a fair amount once they get here), especially for those of us who aren't coaches. based on what i posted on the last page, i'm not expecting Zuniga to pick us when he decides tomorrow.

sounds like Valdez had supposedly some big offers (Oregon, Tennessee & South Carolina in addition to UNC). we had some other highly regarded juniors in town this weekend, so hopefully we can keep the momentum going. kinda crazy we have 6 2016 commits already, although we've gotta hold on to them for over a year.

Sucks but we're likely to lose Zuniga this week, word is the guy has a ton of potential. We want him as a DT, he wants to be a DE.

The thing about our DL recruiting, we're getting away from the old "tweener" DEs(Manny Lawson, Willie Young), and more towards a NFL DL. We're rolling out basically 4 DL, that can rotate and play multiple positions. Hill, Street, Roseboro, Olenga, etc, they're all capable of playing either DT or DE, which is great and provides plenty of flexibility.

Manny Lawson wasn't recruited as a defensive lineman, and it took quite a few years for the coaches to figure out where to play him.

He got looks at DE, LB and TE.

yep, all we can do is hope our coaches were able to remind him of why he picked us in the first place.

I've heard that we'll be looking for another DL if he does go elsewhere, but honestly, I feel like we have a lot of young depth there already. If we could pick up a juco kid who could be a significant part of next year's rotation that'd be different, but not sure how many of those guys are left out there. I'm sure the coaches know what they're doing though.

disappointed but not surprised. didn't realize that Frisman Jackson recruited him, so makes even more sense since he's gone.

we've lost some battles this year, but I think he's only the second kid in our class that flipped to another school (Austin King being the other), although I'm sure I may have forgotten someone. that doesn't seem too bad for the level of players we're getting

Why would the University of Colorado at Boulder be abbreviated CU-Boulder? Can we start calling UNC NCU-Chapel Hill? A quick Collegeboard.org search yielded 32 schools abbreviated CU, University of Colorado was not one of them ironically. I am not doubting they are called CU-Boulder, but these are the CU schools that could have also been assumed from just saying CU:
