it'll be ok. no one had any problem getting >10 rd mags during the '94 ban. they'll cost a little more, but there are a bajillion of them out there.

I'm pretty sure she has no idea what she is talking about during the entire interview. When she was growing up they were probably still using muskets.

I've always found the "clip" capacity debate humorous. I think those who push to limit magazine capacity have never seen how fast even a beginner can swap mags.

^^ true but in a shoot out situation it's the only vulnerability to exploit to make a counter attack (assuming you don't have a weapon yourself). that or if the gun jams.

Oh yeah...kids and teachers don't carry guns. There's no shoot out. That's where a lot of people (not saying you, I'm talking about the gun control idiots) don't get it. Yeah, semiautos with high capacity mags are the fastest option but when your target isn't shooting back then a couple of seconds lost to reloading aren't going to matter.

I'm building my first AR right now. I bought a kit from Double Star and I bought a spikes lower from a friend of mine. The only thing I don't have are magazines and now all this AWB bullshit is going down. I'm a reservist with Coast Guard Deployable Ops and my goal was to have a rifle that I could practice with on my own time to maintain my quals when we hit the range.

Is there anyone here that would be interested in selling me a mag or two? My rifle is useless without them. I've been hitting up all the gun shops and there is absolutely nothing in stock

My brother is still sitting on a small mountain of Thermold ar mags, most of them late 80's/early 90;s production. Of course, he went and bought an ar the other day, so dunno if he will sell any now. I am just glad I bought in on the bag of mags deal on ak mags before it sold out, and got some of the 40 round mags when cdnn had them cheap.

I have a friend looking to build himself an AR-15 with longer range accuracy in mind. He specifically wants a 20" barrel. He mentioned wanting a full upper, and is planning to build up the lower as a home project. Price range will be around 1-1.2k. Any suggestions as to where to look? Is that price even realistic?

I don't have much knowledge about the system - my guns were mostly AKs.

They are going to need to ban all weapons. Even a novice w/ a scoped .308 that billy bob mouth breather bought from Wal-Mart could do some serious damage; pick off about 20, and then the vast majority of first responders from a couple of hundred yards before they could formulate a plan.
