not really. i've applied to 3-4 jobs this past week that i *REALLY* want and am actually qualified for. but we'll see. no hot leads. and none of these jobs are in this state (well one is). so that kind of sucks a lot. i mean not because they aren't in NC but i feel like it is super hard to get a job when you don't reside in the state where it is located.

^^i have no idea what the employment rates are for people in NC with law degrees.

^and i don't want to forget the whole law thing...i want a JOBBBBBBB. not really practicing law, but we've been through that before and it is exasperating to explain haha.

Very hard unless you are running an executive level job search. Not impossible though. And smarter than being an idiot and moving somewhere without a full time job. I don't know anyone that would be dumb enough to do that

^ well yes and no. i know several people that have moved and done fine. but i'm too scared to take that risk, cause it is a HUGE risk and i have loans to pay off...maybe w/o the debt it wouldn't be as scary. but also government and policy jobs are SLIGHTLY different than business exec jobs in terms of moving (probably not in terms of getting though since they appear to be few and far between, and i have 0 experience outside of legal internships)...a lot of the public policy groups (and obviously major government branches) are in more metropolitan areas. *SIGH*

but i'm trying. trying trying. there really isn't anything keeping me here other than the fact that i don't have the flexibility financially to move. soooo frustrating.

hahahaha. oh yea. i missed the face. but you were moving back to a place you at least knew!!! not like a random city. but i guess it still sucks. i mean you had savings and stuff though. that is the only way i'd do it. and i have an assload of debt and $0 savings, so no way to pull it off.

but yea my cousin who has his MBA is ONLY looking out of state. granted he was employed in boston and DC before he was laid off, but he is having a hell of a time trying to find a job. but he also is being super picky. so on the one hand i feel bad for him (going on 2 years unemployed) but on the other its like...how long do you keep trying for something that clearly isn't working?
