Keep an eye out on PSA after Christmas for stripped lowers. They usually add them ~6pm if they're going to.

Someone should write a curl or ruby script that checks the front page for lowers every few minutes

So is the hype exclusively contained to semi auto rifles?

The sad thing is, in a building full of unarmed innocents, anyone with a lick of training could do terrible amounts of damage with a standard pump shotgun and pistol with low cap mags.

Going by that the only real type of gun control that could have an affect on shootings like these would be a total gun ban, thank god that won't happen. Of course it is such a dramatic overreaction to change policy based on a mass shooting that at the end of the day, while incredibly sad and awful, is and incredibly rare event and just a blink in regards to overall gun violence.

i thought bolt guns with muzzle devices, pistol grips and a scope were also banned by the previous ban?

Put my AR on Texas gun trader at an outrageous price just to see if there are any biters. I really doubt it will sell but I will take more than double the value of the gun if someone is willing to pay it.

Yah. They were $119 each. Psa also had ATI polymers for $59

$7 per lower to ship.

NR guns does one fee per transaction. So it's worth it if you buy multiple guns/lowers

Yeah. I went to eBay just for kicks. Lol

I remember trying to sell my thermold mags on there and I got banned because you can't sell anything >10 rounds on eBay. I guess the sellers took over. Aha

Armslist NC is ridiculous. 2500 for delton ARs.

Welp, finally get some disposable funds (aka Christmas money) to buy the precision upper I wanted and it looks like that is going to be nearly impossible until the great gun scare of 2012 dies down. I have never seen so many things out of stock, it wasn't this bad in 2008 when Obama got elected. Terrible timing on my part.

They have about two counters of guns and some on the wall. Not many rifles anymore. But it's a pretty cool place got a few aisles of parts. Not as big as gunrunners

I have no iPad.
I have two complete ARs. I have an upper, lower, and rail of a third AR.
I have $300 that I scored for Xmas, so I can buy my barrel and gas block, or put some more up and get an iPad 3 that both my wife and I can use.

Buy the iPad; you have the parts that count for that rifle already. Wait until this craze is over; if nothing passes, snap up a good deal on some shit that someone stockpiled in a panic buy.

Is it enough for the buyer to write all his CCW info on the bill of sale instead of actually providing a photocopy?

FTF handgun deal...

Also, visual inspection of NC DL, etc.

Am I good? I know this has been asked a million times, just paranoid. Dude is a firearm instructor and moderator on CSC so I figure he's legit.

He says the lack of photo ID on a CCW leads to photocopies being abused by some folks in future FTF handgun deals. Makes sense to me-

Thanks,

Best you can do is verify the expiration date on the DL and make sure the address on that matches the CCP/CCW. Sure, he could have moved and gotten another DL with a current/different address, but as long as the DL and CCW/CCP match then you should be good to go because the numbers don't change (and the police can get the "up to date" info they need from the ID #). Another good thing to look for is the NCDL# should match the CCW/CCP #.

Ie:
DL NCDL25540463
CCW 25540463NC

Though not legal, it's one thing if the addresses on the NCDL and the CCW/CCP don't match. However, if the NCDL and the CCW/CCP #'s don't match, I'd walk away from the deal right then and there.

^ NC has changed the numbers on the CCW permits now so that they no longer reflect your DL. I had to renew this year and mine is a completely different number.

^Thanks! I didn't know that. I guess the only thing you can do is make sure then names and addresses match, as well as check for expiration date validity.

^^^^ no need for copies unless you want them. The law only says to verify.

I do what the law says to do. The law doesn't say to make a bill of sale and all it says about CHPs is the the buyer needs to possess one if they don't have a purchasing permit. It doesn't say you need a copy or the numbers.

I just started reading some gun boards for the first time in a while and man it is really interesting how people seem to either be going absolutely crazy or convinced nothing is going to happen. I tend to side on the nothing is going to happen team but some of the stories that have been posted about local gun store happenings are priceless. I can't wait until the panic buys start racking up some credit card interest and I can start building my precision rig at a reasonable price.

yeah i'm not paying more than $1000 for a lead slinger (ak "accuracy") nor more then 2k for a precision .308 semi-auto rifle

not buying into the 2k shitball aks people are trying to swing... i think my cousins got theirs for $150 pre-clinton

Anyone have experience with Rossi products? Specifically their rifles?

I'm thinking a 357 lever carbine would be a nice cheap addition (and can also shoot 38 specials).

I think most of the negative press regarding these online stems from older models. It seems people getting newer ones love them.

I think I would change out the rear buckhorn sights for some Skinners... Buckhorns tend to be shit on any gun IMO.

Anyone have any experience with Georgia Arms 357/38 ammo?

Interesting thought I had last night while watching the dark knight rises, when catwomen steals Bruce Wayne's prints off the safe what would stop someone from using finger print dust to see which numbers you punch in on your safe? Then it would just be a matter of figuring out the combo. I have a dial safe so it doesn't matter for me but that would be a bit of a security flaw if it worked.

^ I'm just about positive I remember MacGuyver blowing pencil dust onto a keypad to figure out which numbers were used in the combination. The dust stuck to the buttons that had finger grease on them. Seemed legit to 6 year old me.

You can figure out most cell phone passcodes just by looking at the greasy trail on the screen.

migrating from http://thewolfweb.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=633129 ...

While I'm waiting my CPL, I have more time to look at what I'm leaning towards.

If I'm not going to shoot a whole lot (deployment, time at work, etc.), I'm thinking of getting a larger gun. One that I won't necessarily carry much.

The XD .45 Tactical looks awesome, but I want to see how difficult it would be to load, reload, pull the slide back, etc. (for the wife).
