oh, and a lot of coffee shops don't sell alcohol. but some skirted this law, such as barneys where you could buy your hash/ganja, then walk across the street to their sister establishment called barneys uptown and sit in a classy bar, order some drinks, food, and burn. and we favored it because it was organic. defiantly go to the VanGogh. and i highly recommend renting bikes for 8 euro a day.

^^so you've never done anything illegal? Never downloaded any music/movies? Never drank under 21? Never bought alcohol for a minor? Never drove drunk? All those are waaaaay more severe than smoking pot.

NC is one of the few states in the US where it's "decriminilized". Meaning it's like a traffic violation. You don't really get in trouble for it. You get in more shit with a speeding ticket than getting caught with a little weed in NC. Oh not to mention it's the largest cash crop in NC.
