Well, I sold 400 calls a month ago at 5.60 and bought them back today for 3.60.
I bought 600 puts last Friday at 2.15 and sold them at 1.00 today.

Although I should have lost money because the stock went up, I actually ended up netting something like $77 in the end thanks to the time premium on the calls last month.

However, my boss bet against me and bought calls yesterday and made $texas.

this thread = 50% bragging about how all the Warren Buffett/Peter Lynch/T Rowe Price's of the world making amazing picks + 25% just talking about themselves + 15% predicting the future + 10% the usual TWW douchebags

and on that note:
- I am glad I sold all of my BBY and EBAY yesterday (50%)
- I am a boob man (25%)
- I will go with Greenspans 33% and think that we will see a recession (15%)
- fuck everybody (10%)

DBRN and PSS report earnings tomorrow afternoon.

I might have to do some research on them.

I'm just getting back from some European investor conferences, and Asco is this week/over the weekend.

Be looking at the biotechs and pharmas. Can't say specifically which ones, but I do like the therapeutically aligned ETFs such as HHJ, HHK, and HHD.

I've also missed the last 2 weeks of Fast Money. I'm sure they've been talking about the conference season.

^^ yeah, those of us who got in recently (me) or still haven't gotten in have missed the boat on triple digit returns. AAPL's at the $100B market cap mark, so the law of large numbers will keep AAPL from growing at that rate any longer. But... 20-30% growth over the next year is still quite possible.

GOOG is at $500.
I'm very seriously considering selling it. I got in at $343 over a year ago...only 10 shares. Tired of watching it hit 500 then drop, hit 500 drop, hit 500 drop, etc.
Any thoughts?

i'm no expert, but i recently deleted it from my watch list so i wouldn't be tempted to buy it. i'd be concerned that i'd lose it all.

I think I'm going to sell my long-term (but basically inconsequentially small--I bought them when I first started dabbling in stocks and was trying to figure things out) holdings in GE and HLT and get on the AAPL train.

Chinese Stocks Take Big Fall
Chinese Stocks Tumble 8.3 Percent, Biggest Daily Drop Since February Plunge

Quote :
"BEIJING (AP) -- Chinese stocks plunged Monday following government efforts to cool a market boom, recording their biggest one-day fall since a February drop that triggered a global sell-off.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index tumbled 8.3 percent to 3,670.40, falling for the third time in four sessions since the government raised a tax on trading last week. The index had dropped 2.7 percent Friday. The Shenzhen Composite Index for China's smaller second market fell 7.9 percent to 1,039.90. "

"There is the risk that this snowballs into a crash. Sentiment is so fevered that a bubble could burst," said Claire Innes, an economist in London with the consulting firm Global Insight.

The rest of the world basically yawned as most global markets opened either flat or slightly down....

SIRI and XMSR are lame. I think there are much better places to park your money. They might go up at some distant point in the future, but in the mean time, you could be making bank off of something else.*

think here might be a good point to get into TIE?

or would you go for the AAPL?

SBUX prices are also down to the point where I'm starting to watch them again, although i don't think i want to pull the trigger yet.

another company that i just started watching is NGPS. they've been growing strongly for a few years, but are depressed right now. I prob won't buy, because I already have GRMN and NVT, but never say never.

i got some at 120, and will start getting out at 150 even if it hits that mark well before the 29th. also, recall that in the past, AAPL has had launch delays.
