When I eat salad, I eat it w/ only vinegar. I always have...

I don't like other dresses and vinegar is actually really good for you.

Pickles and cucumbers/carrots dipped in vinegar are also a good snack and filling.

Well... I am w/in 5 lbs of my goal of where I wanted to be before I went on the cruise (the cruise is Sat.) so I don't think that's too bad. 17 lbs lost.

I guess the cruise pictures will tell.

You're right. Work is super difficult...

I only have today and tomorrow left and I am having trouble.

At least work is allowing a way for me to get rid of some energy...

They are providing *free* aerobic boxing classes once a week now and they start tonight at 6... so I am excited.

Well the senior partner of my firm played basketball for Carolina and she is REALLY health-conscious...

So they sent out an E-mail and asked if anyone was interested in boxing aerobics and 4 of us said yes. (It's a small firm)

Apparently, we're being taught by Boom Boom Mancini's sparring partner and all we had to buy was boxing hand wraps...

So hey! That's another hour of working out per week.

"good dietary fat can't be stored as body fat!?!?!? what the fuck were you thinking? it's still a source of energy, and your body will store what it doesn't immediately need if there is insulin present in the bloodstream"

Dude if you eat a handful of peanuts that is not going to be stored as body fat. Your body needs energy. That was the message I was trying to convey. I didn't mean if you drank 1 liter of olive oil that it wouldn't matter. Sorry for the oversimplification.

Quote :
"how in the fuck do you go giving dietary advice on protein when you start off by stating that you don't know the first thing about it? there's no reason to limit protein to under 20 grams per meal"

I stated I don't know a lot about the right amount of protein for women who are attempting to lose weight. That means "if anyone knows better than I do, then feel free to chime in". When I said limit it to ~20 grams its because she is trying to LOSE weight so one of the keys is to limit portion sizes.

Just stating that if she is getting protein 6 times a day at about 20-25g per serving thats probably in the right ballpark for her. In other words don't eat 3/4 lb chicken breasts for dinner.

Ultimately, if she follows the plan i laid out she'll lose 10 pounds in a month. That's the goal. She's not trying to become an Olympian so your scientifically perfect, elite bodybuilding dietary knowledge isn't really needed here. If you want to chime in go for it, but there's no need to tear apart otherwise good advice.

So I've lost 13.5" since Jan18th and my BMI has gone down 10%. He said to stop looking at the numbers on the scale.

Thanks.

There are lots of good pointers in here actually.

What's a good BMI for a lady who is 5'8". I'd search google but I know the answer will be all different. Probably will look anyway and take the collective average.

Yeah I thought it was 20 or so. PErsonal trainer said 19.

I'm at 24 right now. Considering I was at 34, that's not too shabby!

He also said I wasn't plateauing because I'm still losing inches and BMI, I need to stop looking at the stupid scale.

don't worry too much about BMI. the ultimate measure of personal fitness is how you feel when you look in the mirror.

My good moment was a couple of weekends ago... My mom had taken pics of me at Christmas and at Easter... and I was wearing basically the same thing... The difference was amazing though. I have lost a ton of that weight around my face and neck...

I <3 before and after. Post 'em Kiwi!
