What is there to say? They are the best team in the tourney. It would be a MAJOR disappointment should they not win it all... I wish we had those type of expectations..

Louisville can beat them though... I really hope 'Ville beats UT b/c UT will have no chance against UNC matchup wise..

I am more worried about Louisville than UNC matchup wise. UNC and UT are basically identical when it comes to playing style except they have a dominant big man. It would be an interesting game... but I think Louisville will beat hard to go against

I don't see how UT can stop Hansbrough/Thompson... I think UL with Padgett/Caracter can at least slow him down.

UT is more athletic but that plays into UNCs hands... Regardless, the East is proving to be, by far, the best regional...

Yeah they looked great against mount something or another and arkansas (I haven't even seen but the first few minutes in each half, but they turned it over pretty much every time, I'm amazed they have any points).

UNC almost got swept by clemson.

It's never an upset if someone DOESN'T win the tournament. Other than last year, where a team had been proven to be national championship calibur, when was the last time a #1 overall won the championship?

Well, while the chance of the #1 overall team winning the whole thing is only 20-30%, that's much better than any other rank. So, if you had to pick a team based on no special knowledge, picking the #1 overall team gives you the best chance of picking the winner.

You see this a lot in advice articles written by people who don't understand statistics -- don't pick the #1 overall team because the only win it ~20% of the time!

For reference, since 1979, teams seeds who have won the NC

#1 team - 6 times
All other 1 seeds - 9 times
2 seeds - 4 times
3 seeds - 4 times

(And remember, knowing the seed doesn't tell you which team to pick. So, the fact that other 1 seeds have won 9 only narrows it down to 3 teams)

I had UNC's chance of winning it all as 16%, but even if you assume it's 20%, would you still pick them considering 35.8% of the yahoo brackets have UNC winning it all?

i know UNC looked really good tonight, but I think L'Ville looked just as good. and I don't expect UNC to shoot that lights out for 4 more games. If Louisville can get by Tennessee (which i think they can, Tennessee is just not a great team), I think they have a great chance at knocking off the fags.. but if UNC can get through Washington State, Louisville, Kansas and UCLA, that will be pretty impressive. and i might be depressed for a month afterwards
