thats probably also why he wanted the bodies back. Which just raises the question, did the rest of the others just die and he never resurrected them? or are they all at the temple. Kind of the only question i've been wondering since we first met alpert. Theres no way he's just been by himself all this time.

don't they need ALL the losties to come back? The island as clear about Micheal's work being 'done' but we haven't ever really seen anything in reference to walt. I'd assume the logistical reason is that he and the other kids who we haven't seen at the temple are in school. or something stupid like that.

The time traveling still confuses me. Faraday said it was linear, like on a rope, and you could go back or forth...

Let's say for example that they stayed on the island from 1977 until the 2000s..would they see their plane crash on the island again and theirselves on it?
Also, if they were always part of the dharma initiative, then why didn' tthey recognize each other when they first met juliet and such..

Because they were members of the DI after they crashed

But I do think it'd been cool if in one of the first episodes where they found an orientation video they'd seen one of themselves on it, like Sawyer seeing himself as LeFleur in a security orientation video. That would've been a mind-fook

So if sawyer made a video now and found it later, he wouldn't remember it? Doesn't make sense to me... It didn't seem like they were losing their memory every time they time traveled...

and the statue doesn't have to have HUGE ears just like the pictures....the writers could have taken some liberty with the exact representation

It is so hard for me to understand because Faraday says, "If it is happening then it always happened". which to me means that when the plane crashed on the island, sawyer had always worked for the dharma initiative..it had already happened, however he just didn't remember that it happened for some reason...

If they were to stay on the island for 30 years, they would see the plane crash and themself get off of it...so it is like back to the future where they have to avoid themself..

While Sawyer was a member of the DI in 1974, there was a young James Ford living in a trailer somewhere in the southern US

That young James Ford grew up to be Sawyer, crashed on the island in 2005, then traveled back to 1974 after a series of zany mishaps

He didn't remember going/living in the 70s, because in 2004, Sawyer had not been to the 70s. But in 2005, the time skipping started, and that's when he went to the 70s for the first time.

But if you go back to the 70s, Sawyer will always have been there.

It's questionable what would happen if they stayed on the island for 30 years and met up with themselves before the time skipping started. We will likely never see that scenario. More likely, all the time-skippers will probably skip back to 2005 or 2008 at some point and go back to the time when they started original skipping.

In the scene where sawyer is walking through the dharma initiative camp after waking up and talking to horace, there is a quick shot of someone playing chess alone and we only see there hands, but I think that that is the young Ben. I think that there was a scene with him playing chess outside by himself in the episode about his initial arrival on the island after his mothers death, the purge episode.
