Lets spend the next three months making dated cultural references and jerking off to Eric Berry

Agenda at Jaybee's meeting:

1. Motion to get the snack machine restocked twice weekly instead of the current once a week; all the good shit is gone by Thursday.

2. Petition to have Mr. Fain's handicap sticker revoked; he's perfectly capable of walking the extra 20 feet, though the wheezing seems to be legitimate and not an act.

3. Personal Bathroom for Mr. Fain...construction underway...the rest of the staff has grown wearing of the 45 moratorium on the bathroom after Jaybee has unleashed one of his famous 4 pound dumps and jerked off to Bree Olsen all over the stall door.

4. Dip spit buckets to be installed every 20 feet along the main corridor and adjacent to every desk.

5. Dress code upgraded to suit and tie...Panic ensues; Jaybee remembers his Stein Mart gift cards and gets a twinkle in his eye.

Get back to fucking NCSU football...any word on how Tony Baker is doing in getting back in shape? How much time do you think O'brien will split between him and our stable of other backs in our backfield? Who are incoming running backs recruited and what are we looking like in the backfield for -09-10 besides Tony Baker??

Hehe finally gotcha. Apparently switching from basketball to football did the trick

I'd like to clarify tho that my post was not supposed to be taken as a "100% certainty."
What I AM saying is that I'm confident enough that State will win that I decided to do some good old-fashioned trash talking

I mean really, consider WHY State lost last year:

1) No Pack offense - State's O-line will be improved AND deeper. Only injuries have stopped Wilson. State D will benefit from having an offense that MOVES THE BALL.

2) Turnovers - A healthy Russell Wilson and 2 years under TOb have worked wonders. The Cocks won't get as many blatant gifts this time around.

3) Cocks QBs vs. State's Secondary - One was terrible and got better. The other was terrible and got WORSE. Roles reverse as the Cocks have open on the road w/o a proven QB. State's secondary, as bad as it is/was, will have more talent, depth, and experience.

4) Momentum - State lost only 2 key contributors (Brown, Hill) that have promising successors. TOB in his 3rd year is hitting his stride, having shaken off discipline and depth issues. State finished strong last year and is looking for revenge. The Cocks however had a 4th mediocre season under Spurrier due to a struggling offensive. They have no proven QBs and a talented but reloading D which is replacing key starters. True the Cocks have talented players, but there's a lot of Q's too.

Prediction - Pack 30, Cocks 10

(See script from UNC game)

The Cocks hang on for about 2.5 quarters before the dam breaks. State wins the TO battle by ~3 and the Cocks get at best 1 score off a TO. Glennon QB's the last series.

Great article on Russell Wilson! O'briens knowledge as a head coach should be commended for finding a leader such as Wilson for our program! GO PACK!!

Wilson not resting this summer

By Dennis Garcia -- Sports, Editor
Posted: 06/08/09 - 10:32:03 pm CDT

ASHEBORO — During the summer months when Russell Wilson is taking a break from running away from 260-pound linemen, he doesn’t curl up with a good book or sit in front of the television playing video games.

The North Carolina State quarterback instead is working on another game this summer. Wilson, a member of the Coastal Plain League’s Gastonia Grizzlies, is working on his baseball skills prior to reporting to N.C. State to begin football workouts in the fall.

Wilson, a 5-11, 208-pound red-shirt sophomore who became the first freshman to earn All-ACC honors at quarterback last fall, worked his way into the starting lineup this past baseball season for the Wolfpack, starting 22 games. He finished the season batting .236 with a pair of doubles and a triple. The Richmond, Va., native scored 13 runs, drove in 10, walked 10 times and tallied 21 total bases.

In 2008, he batted .296 with a pair of doubles, a triple and two home runs.

“We’re using him like we would anyone else,” Gastonia coach Eli Benefield said. “He’s come in here and been a big asset for us. He’s made a huge impact not only on the field, but in the lockerroom. He’s a young kid, but he takes control.”

Wilson, who was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 41st round prior to joining N.C. State, is having a solid start to the CPL season. The second baseman is hitting .345 with 9 runs scored and 3 doubles. He has stolen eight bases in 10 attempts.

“Everything’s going well, I’m really enjoying my time here,” Wilson said prior to Monday night’s game with the Asheboro Copperheads at McCrary Park. “We got a pretty good team, I like our coaches and I like Gastonia. I’m here to get more repetitions, get more ground balls, see more pitches. Just improve my game. This is something I needed to do if I choose baseball.”

Wilson, who is expected to stay with the Grizzlies until July 5, said he’s far from making a decision on which path to follow. Instead, he said, he’ll just enjoy the ride as long as he can. Whatever he decides, he said he’s going to enjoy it.

“Football and baseball are games,” Wilson said. “I don’t consider that pressure. I don’t think you go up to bat with runners on second and third and two outs trying to win a game is pressure. I don’t think it’s making a big-time throw at a certain time. I don’t consider that pressure, I consider that fun. Pressure is when you have a family in my situation where my dad is sick and my mom is trying to do everything. That is pressure. That’s the way I look at life. I know I have the Lord in my life and he takes care of me and watches over me. A small thing like playing a baseball game or a football game isn’t pressure.”
On the football field, Wilson enjoyed a stellar freshman campaign for Tom O’Brien’s squad in 2008. A dual-threat quarterback, Wilson led the Wolfpack to four straight wins and its first bowl appearance since 2005. He completed 150 of 275 attempts for 1,955 yards and 17 touchdowns, while rushing for 388 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. Wilson was named the ACC’s Rookie of the Year.

”I have confidence in my skill level and I know I have to play well,” Wilson said. “I’m still working on things now, working out hard and getting ready. It’s difficult doing both, but I try and stay as organized as possible.”

Wilson earned all-metro and all-state honors as a senior at Collegiate High School in 2007 after batting .536 with seven home runs and 29 RBIs. He also pitched, finishing with a 6-2 record and 1.83 ERA to go with 52 strikeouts.

Not only has Wilson been a big plus for the Grizzlies on the field, but he’s helped them immensely off.

“He’s definitely drawn a lot of fans out,” said Benefield. Not only baseball fans, but football fans and N.C. State fans. It’s good for our team, good for the organization and good for the league.”

unless you're referring to orien's keen ability to see that wilson was better than evans or beck.

^ While I thankfully don't have that problem, I know the feeling.

Let's be real here: If Wilson was 4 inches taller, 40 lbs heavier, and playing for a BCS title contender, he'd be Tim Tebow. The kid has incredible physical gifts, the biggest of which is the head on his shoulders. He knows what's truly important and will have success no matter what he elects to do in life.

I have the same feeling about Wilson as I did/do Rivers - that I was privileged to see him play and have him represent my Alma mater.

We're actually kinda fortunate that Wilson has the option to leave after this year or next, for Glennon's sake

If he's looking at 3 years of playing behind RW, he's likely to seriously consider following in the footsteps of Mallet, Marve or Snead

If the dual quarterback threat works, I say I hope they both stay for four years (five for Wilson since he red-shirted), but after not having a solid QB in FOREVER....I dont mind us being greedy and having two All American type QB's under center!!

But it almost never works. Anyway, I doubt we'll be switching the two in and out; TOB only said that Glennon would see time early, likely against the I-AA teams. Once we get into the meat of the schedule, Wilson will only come out for injuries and garbage time.

And stop living in fantasy land, dude. Wilson is gonna be playing minor league ball this time next year.

from what i have read over the last year or so was that TOB basically had to re-recruit RW since the agreement CTC worked out with Avent was for two sports and TOB wasn't sold on that in the beginning. To me, he's a TOB recruit

Thanks for being a wise ass

What I'm getting at is that Russell's every bit as good of an all-around athlete as Tebow, who's treated like a God in college football. The only differences that I see is that he's slightly undersized and playing at a program that's been under the national radar currently (and historically). It's no different than Rivers getting overshadowed by Manning and Jason White just b/c he was on a mediocre team with a shitty defense.
