I play still. Although I got on the Mass Effect 1 & 2 games this week after having both of them for a year. lol Just finally getting to them now. But I play this for a few hours or so every two days when I get a chance.

Anyone still play? I've racked up a good 120 hours in the last two weeks. So close to lvl 50 and attempting to get platinums on all weapons. Harder than it appears.

I got bored and finally played the single player. was surprised that it was actually pretty fun although the story is a bit and is that loud warning sound from the wmd from crysis or lost? lol

I also lmao when they made fun of call of duty with the "pussy ass heart beat monitors" reference.

when i had played the single player i loved the CoD insults; i got a real kick out of them. there were a few with the heartbeat monitor thing being just one of them.

i havent really been playing all that much lately. been playing other games cause i know i can always come back to this one. there is no chance i will ever get to level 50, i'm 42 now, and i'm content with that.

^haha yeah, took me a good 150 hours to level from 42 to 47 now. Even stats verse says I have another 70 hours at least to get to 50. Although I could level faster if I played a lot of conquest as medic, but unless I have a decent squad and/or team, it's not that fun to me. Rush is where it's at.

Honestly cant wait till bf3 rush. The city maps look awesome. Really wished there were more urban/city maps for multiplay in bc2.

I actually just got this game during the steam sale, Haven't played it too much, just about 12 hours so far.

Rush definitely is my favorite mode (also quickest to level), and engineer ftw.

Still play this online on 360 every so often. Definitely one of those games with almost infinite replay value. Almost have 2 platinum stars with both UMP's.

I freaking love Africa Harbor, my favorite map by far.

I don't really like the jungle maps or the night map because I actually don't have great eyesight and can't see people very well in the dark or in foliage.

I should have bought this game when it came out instead of waiting until everyone is level 50 and way better than I am lol. I do well in the max rank 30 or so noob servers though.

^ Idk what you are talking about, just because they are 50 doesn't mean they are so good. That is the beauty of FPS lvling games, a bullet to the head kills a lvl50 the same as a lvl1

Now I will admit if you get a squad of 50s they will wreck stuff and make you want to leave the game but just the lone 50 that plays a lot usually isn't so good you want to leave the game.

Well a level 50 at least has hundreds of hours of game time to improve their skills compared to me at level 11 with like 25 hours (including the campaign).

I'm not saying I'm gonna leave a server with some lvl 50 players but they are generally much better than I am, plus they have better stuff.

Probably only partly correct. The best players have a high points per minute and never glitched. Outside of that you have folks that are simply determined to grind or glitch it out.

I've been playing this game since day 1, and I'm still only level 40. I play Rush exclusively, and my SPM is 221. I've never once attempted to glitch or exploit anything simply to earn points toward the next rank.

if you want to level fast, play conquest and play as a medic or engineer for support points. Honestly, it doesn't matter what level you are in this game to play. By lvl26 you should have everything unlocked. After that, its just purely stats building. I'm just trying to see how many platinum I can get now.

Doesn't mean I play better than I did a year ago. And that's the way fps should be played. In a multiplayer fps game, lvling sometimes seems stupid. At least in BC2, you gain all your gear pretty fast.

I just unlocked the slugs last match.

Damn those are awesome! I used the 870 shotgun with the slugs and extended mag and destroyed people. I killed a person with each of my first 6 rounds once.

bf3 should be a mix between soft and hardcore in bc2. Shouldn't feel arcade-like with softcore that I never liked. It's stupid to think it takes a full clip of anything to kill someone.

jumped in last night for the 1st time in a very long time and i can't believe how awful i was lol. my skills have really deteriorated over the past months away from the game. also, the servers i played on are full of a lot of high ranking people now, not like it was months back. but i guess i better get the practice in for BF3!

It's crazy to think this, but I really hope that the HK416 and UMP make it into Battlefield 3 and are as excellent as they are in this. The UMP is so far and away incredible that I have platinum stars with both of 'em. I'd love to shoot these for real once just to say I got to since I'm a huge fan of H&K.

The 416 is an over rated battle rifle for the cost in real life. It's still good, but shits expensive compared to a number of the other m16 based rifles. UMP is badass specially the .45 version. A buddy of mine has it and you can't believe how light it is without ammo. Although, the plastic clips make it look like a toy gun, atleast the ones he has since they are mis-aligned in the middle.

I'm a huge fan of H&K, but their stuff is wayyyy too expensive. Can't afford to spend 4500 on an UMP.

I just started playing this game on a whim.

Keeps crashing to a white screen on me every 10 minutes or so.

Anyone have this problem before and find a solution?

I have been googling the issue and nothing suggested has fixed it for me.

battlefield on 1920x1200 on low graphics results in ~45 fps

MB hovering around 50C
CPU around 60-65C
GPU 75C

not great, but playable. I can still own face, until it crashes.

heh, my friends and I played BC2 in low quality DX9 mode at 1920x1200 res this week. We found it surprisingly easy to spot and find snipers since foliage sucks at those settings. lol

Then after we got sick of looking at crappy sprites, we changed the eye candy back.

CPU was overheating. Idle was ~55 and game was >62 upon further testing.

CPU max temp is 60.

Cleaned dust out of fan, increased CPU speed

CPU now idle <40 and game ~45

IDK why cpu fan was not increasing RPM if it was set on optimal. It was around 900 rpm, where now it is 1400ish

^^ CPU max temp is not 60C, they are safe up to 70-80C and even higher. Open up your BIOS and look at your TJMax (that is the hottest it will get before shutting down).

Your system is on the verge of not playing BC2 because of the CPU. Frostbite loves 4+ cores and your graphics card is 2 gens old. It's not a bad system but if you have the money I would look at a P67 setup with a 2500k (easily OC to 5ghz on high end air). You can get all the main components for around $400-$500.

depending on settings and resolution you may have drops below 30 FPS, depends on how well they optimized the engine for Fermi.

needed my BF fix this morning and no one is playing BC2 anymore. Like only 10% of the servers are left and only 5 servers have a decent amount of players on it! granted its 6 in the morning, but even then, I'd find good servers with plenty of people on during this odd hour.

Say what you will about BF3, BC2 is still pretty damn fun.
