It was absolutely beautifully set up to where you were introduced to all of the elements in the previously viewed timelines so all of the chaos could happen at once and you wouldn't have to have anything explained to you or be confused about why something happened.

I would think there would be at least one more season after this one so they can put it into syndication. I don't know if they'll be at 100 episodes at that point but they'll be pretty close.

they are 52 right now. average TV season is 22, though they had 25 and 24 in their first two respectively.

The general talk with TV shows is that the renewals from first to second and then second to third are a lot harder to get than the third to fourth renewal for exactly this reason. If a show makes it through a full three seasons, it's almost guaranteed for get a fourth.

They had rolled it this far, the cost of possibly losing money on one more season is more than offset by the future profitability of syndication for those shows. Often time the studio that is producing the show will lower their price to the distributor (in the case of Community it is made by Sony) in exchange for a full pick up, so that the cable channel can absorb lower ad revenues brought about by lower ratings during that timeslot. Everybody wins.

This isn't FOX, or Community would probably have been gone quicker than Firefly.

This would also mean Community's budget would get slashed which means getting rid of actors and fewer of the high-concept episodes that everybody loves.

I've gotten to the point where I don't really like Jeff though. It's probably intentional on Harmon's part for whatever reason but his character is like 100% asshole douche bag now
