In an unrelated note...
What was with that ACC play of the week (or something similarly titled) they showed right before the start of the second half. It was a Clemson block against us. Coulda swore I saw the Clemson player hit our man's arm during that block. I always assumed that would have been a foul. I can see how a ref might miss that in real time, but it's kinda sketchy to show a slow mothion no-call foul as the "play of the week".

^ to the first point. Half of those guys are only McD's AA's or 4/5* recruits because they chose Duke. I mean seriously? Lance Thomas a 5-star? Brian Zoubek a 4-star?

I have full confidence we could throw JV out there against Zoubek and he'd outperform him as a green freshman. He's seriously the worst 4-star recruit I've EVER seen.

I perused the Duke scout site last night. Most are calling State shit, saying this hurts their final four chances, talking shit about the Plumlees. Every now and then, someone will say "State's really not that bad," but it quickly gets dismissed as nonsense.

Last night i defanitely saw a pumped up crowd. we have no excuses not to win all games now as long as that pumped up crowd shows upand we plan more promotions that are even better than the baloon night. on tv you could notice that they would switch between the band and music on the stereo system. they need to change this. stick with the stereo system. we can do a new rockin version of the pack song.

very true. i don't really get too caught up in beating teams w/ big recruits, but i do like beating teams currently ranked #6/7.

when i saw those balloons flyin in the crowd i got my PACK PRIDE on! i knew then and there it was gonna be PACK by 14! we made the rbc center the rockin balloon center for a night but we gotta do better to get the crowd pumped in the future. i say next game we hand out boomboxes and play loud rockin rap songs all at once to make the POWER PACK fly high!!!

I do have to agree that last night we looked like the team Sidney has been trying to make since he got here. We were playing pressure defense and pressure offense, the players all seemed to care about winning and were able to execute the gameplan to perfection. This wasnt a fluky win, we dominated the #6 team in the country from the opening tip and didnt let up

If this is signs of whats to come, especially once we get Harrow and LoBrown, then I'm very optimistic. unfortunately, as a state fan, I will likely be put back in my place after we commit 35 turnovers, look completely lost and get blown out in our next game

We will always rush the court when we beat UNC unless we establish ourselves as contenders. We can start by at least sniffing a conference championship.

If anyone expects the students to "act like we've been there before" on Tuesday (beating UNC) -- many of them haven't, and some only once.

I feel so bad for the students right now. I mean we were so not a great program in football or basketball in any stretch when I was in school 2000-2004. BUT, we were able to rush the court and the field a bunch of times after big wins... and we were nationally relevant in both.

Being a student from like 2006-2009 must have hardcore sucked ass.

** And we did NOT rush the court against UNC when we were good and they were bad. Like 10 idiots went on the court and everyone else talked shit to them.

But we weren't awful and it was the best either program had been in quite a while. We were there during the best in recent years--hopefully Sid and TOB will start a stretch of their own.

I plan to join in rushing the court if/when we beat our hated, reigning national champion RIVAL at home. Until we can beat UNC like 1/3 of the time OR they fall out of grace nationally then we can stop rushing the court over a win against them.

just because it will be the first week in 4 years UNC is not a top 25 ranking doesn't mean it's not a big deal all of a sudden

I think in a way it would be insulting to them not to rush the court if we beat (note that I'm not saying we will, just hypothetically), but at the same time this program NEEDS some enthusiasm. Until we get back to the level of beating UNC like we were during the Case-Valvano years then it is something we need to celebrate. Let all the recruits know that even though we may not have the best team, we have the best and most passionate fans. Personally I think that any big emotional win over a big instate rival is deserving of a court rush. People act like rushing the court is some sacred thing that people should never do.

Our team did a great job of recognizing all the different defensive looks Duke was giving and adjusting. I can't think of a game where I have seen them play that much zone.

That coach k postgame interview was actually pretty classy. The press asked him about injuries and whether that played a factor in their loss and K basically said, "everybody gets banged up...to claim injuries would take a way from state...they played a great game and we couldn't have beaten them tonight even if we had a week off." much classier than saying, yeah, we might could have won if we had all of our guys blah blah blah
