How hard was it to follow the comic? I do not understand the need or purpose to deviate so far from that plot and add shitty characters/ignore other badass ass characters.

So having just watched the episode, my query is this.
Why were there zombies just sitting in the church? They should have been up ambling around looking for food. Sitting in the church to me implies some sort of thought process was going on. 10/20/2011 9:00:09 AM |

It's already been shown that the zombies "rest"... when he came out of the house that one time there was a zombie just laying down hanging out. When it saw him he got up. I'd think that with the world falling apart, if someone got bitten it wouldn't be out of the ordinary for them to go to church to pray. They probably just ended up dying at the church sitting in a pew. 10/20/2011 9:30:22 AM |
modlin All American 2642 Posts user info edit post |
Naw, cause there was three of them. Unless they all got bit and not outright eaten at the same time, went to the church and then died at the same time, the first one off would have eaten the others, right? They all had to walk in there post-zombification and then sit down.
It just seemed a little off for them all to be sitting in the pew like that instead of ambling around. Anyways, small point and I like the show. 10/20/2011 9:56:10 AM |

So, what special infected do you think will spawn first?
I'm hoping for a hunter to land a 25 pt pounce on the blonde. I haven't seen many pills or medkits laying around, she might be fucked. I just hope they don't trigger the tank too soon, they only have tier 1 weapons so far except for the Hunting Rifle, but that thing is shit for taking out a tank in most situations. 10/20/2011 10:14:28 AM |

General zombie question: Once people turn zombie, do they just roam the earth for eternity? Or is there a lifespan once they turn? Like it seems they need to feed. Like if the don't feed, will they die completely? At the CDC it touched on the 'virus' re-animating the part of the brain that is used for basic life... breathing, feeding, etc. I mean that is how you fully kill them. Destroy their head cavity. The brain would still need to be sustained. How long until all the zombies would eventually just die out.
Also... side note about the zombification from the comics. Just wondering if these two points were touched on yet in the show. I doubt it seeing how little they've paid attention to detail they've been: [COMIC BOOK SPOILER]: http://i.imgur.com/YyZCE.jpg 10/20/2011 10:48:25 AM |

True zombies AKA undead ones won't necessarily die but eventually they will rot enough to the point where their muscles will be too deteriorated to function. Zombies infected with a virus (something like 28 Days Later) will eventually die of starvation because they are technically still alive and require energy. 10/20/2011 10:59:45 AM |
Pikey All American 6421 Posts user info edit post |
So there is like a couple months shelf life on a zombie. Wouldn't they start thinning out eventually? Either rotting away or starving? I mean this story line spans months. You'd think these large hordes would die out. 10/20/2011 11:42:12 AM |

Dude in the woods had eaten a woodchuck.
Re: zombie lifespan, if they're susceptible to bacteria/maggots/whatnot, I'd guess they could make it a few weeks or a month, tops, and at the end they wouldn't be very mobile. If not, then the sun/exposure/starvation//injury/whatnot would get them in a couple months. Of course, they don't appear to drink water or any fluid other than what they get from eating the living, so they'd probably dessicate in a week or two, faster for the ones with big gaping wounds. This ignores the part about zombies being make-believe. 10/20/2011 12:52:01 PM |

Well it's just applying the rules of the universe to the series. It's just as similar to saying "Who would win in a fight between Batman and Superman?" Yeah it's not real but there are rules that have been established in their universe and there isn't anything wrong with considering the possibilities within that universe. The Walking Dead has already established that the zombies DO decompose though so that is a rule that one can think about. 10/20/2011 1:44:27 PM |

unless batman uses kryptonite... I mean the latest batman shows him as being more liberal than past batman's as being a true boy scout hero. More of a badass who plays more dirty than the normal super hero persona.
But yeah... I'd still think superman would win in that fight. 10/20/2011 2:40:34 PM |

If a vampire bites a zombie does the zombie turn into a vampire? Or...If a zombie bites a vampire does the vampire turn into a zombie?

I like where this thread is heading...
... TO AWESOMENESS!!!!
I would have to think that since both zombies and vampires are the undead, both viruses won't work on each other; but vampires are most def superior in every way. They may lack the necessary numbers and could potentially starve themselves since the human population has reduce drastically in size, but I'm sure the modern vampire society has some sort of back-up plan or solution for this.
I'd maybe put werezombies towards the more believable combination since they do transform from a human host... maybe where they can be infected in their human form, but protected in their werewolf form. 10/21/2011 6:32:03 PM |

I would like to think that Superman, infected with the Zombie disease after having been bit under the influence of kryptonite, would not be able to cure himself. When he was in the presence of the sun though, ie day time, he would be able to fight the disease and remain his normal self. However, once in the dark he would revert into a zombie. This means that Superman is forever plagued to travel around the Earth constantly ensuring he is never in the dark.
Reverse Vampirish Zombie Superman.
I'd buy that for a dollar. 10/23/2011 8:07:25 AM |
