im giving Crabtree 1-2 more weeks to show that he is going to be productive in that San Fran offense. If he doesn't improve though, who would be the best choice to replace: Nate Washington, Mike Wallace or Steve Breaston?

Wallace or Breaston. By then, Ben will be close to being back & he likes going deep to Wallace

reading through the last pages some of y'alls leagues aren't very competitive

shit in ours we had four guys request Washington (GB) on wavers, and another 3 at least for Naanee this week. Nate Washington is also long gone

^^ definitely s. jackson & rice..... b.jackson & mccoy is tough though since they're both going against relatively soft defenses. b.jackson might be worth the gamble, i just haven't seen enough of him to be sure.

I have to start QB, QB, QB/RB/WR from these 4:

Derek Anderson @ ATL
Alex Smith vs NO
Josh Freeman @ CAR
Brandon Jackson vs BUF

its tough for me to decide between a QB and RB for the same spot...

thoughts on malcolm floyd this week? He did terrible in Game 1 (granted the weather was terrible) but with Crayton getting practice in has his value dropped? Im not sure to play him over Maclin (who also did poorly).

I think the weather affected Philip and Floyd more than anything last week. Rivers targeted Floyd 12 times, yet only completed 3 due to the shit conditions. Vick has a career completion percentage of around 50%, and would much rather make plays with his legs than throwing to his wideouts. I would give Floyd the start against a shitty Jacksonville pass defense that let Orton and co almost break the 300 yard mark.

I have 1 RB slot and 1 RB/WR slot, who the hell should I play. (I have Greg Jennings and Reggie Wayne starting at receiver)

Out of these 5 who should I play?

Steven Jackson vs Oak
Brandon Jackson vs Buf
Jahvid Best vs Philly
Hines Ward @ Ten
Randy Moss vs NYJ

I'm thinking of starting Jackson and Jackson, but Ward makes for an intriguing play against a soft Tennessee pass defense, also he went over 100 yards last week despite Dixon being the QB.

I would have to agree, jackson/jackson

John Carlson vs DEN or
Owen Daniels(maybe limited snaps) vs WAS

i'd go with Carlson unless you hear that Daniels is no longer on a snap count. you saw how limited he really was last week

pick 2 RB (non-ppr league):
Frank Gore vs. NO (MNF)
Arian Foster @ Wash
Brandon Jackson vs. Buf
Pierre Thomas @ SF
Matt Forte @ Dal

pick 3 WR (same league, we get 1 point for every 20 punt/kickoff return yards)
Desean Jackson @ Det
Percy Harvin vs. Mia
Anquan Boldin @ Cin
Malcolm Floyd vs. Jax
Dez Bryant vs. Chi

Call me crazy, but I actually like Forte and Arian Foster there....but they are all decent picks and a crapshoot. Gore is your stud, but going against NO, Foster got lots of points, won't get as many this time, but you still ride him until he lets you down, Jackson gets a crappy Bills D and all the reps, Thomas will get 60 yards and a TD against SF...it's what he gets like every game, and Forte will be mediocre but continue to catch passes in that offense and thus, be a steady play.

Jackson vs. Det.
Boldin vs. Cin.

Harvin is still too much of a ? and looked horrible....I'm afraid of Floyd until he catches more than 2 passes in a game, and Dez Bryant is a project pick at best.

Pick 2 RB (top two are my picks, wondering about Charles over Jackson this week?):

Chris Johnson
Steven Jackson
Jamaal Charles
Jerome Harrison
Felix Jones

Pick 3 WR:
Roddy White
Reggie Wayne
Austin Collie
Marques Colston
Steve Smith (NYG)

ok, so the guy in my league who had Ryan Grant is now trying to trade me for B. Jackson. He first offered up D. Mccluster....not happening. Let me know if this counter works for both sides...keep in mind he needs a RB bad.

I give: C. Palmer, B Jackson He Gives: A. Rogers

also keep in mind, my RB already are P. Thomas, R. Brown, A. Bradshaw, C. Portis

he would be an idiot, but the worst he can say is no.

I think there's a little TOO much Brandon Jackson Hype. He's a 1st time starter on a team that throws about 80% of the time. He won't be the goal line back and really only has serious value in PPR leagues b/c of his ability to catch out of the backfield.

I'm not saying he isn't important, but he's certainly isn't an instant pick worthy of trading Rodgers for.

With that said, maybe he will bite.

So I picked up Brandon Jackson on this week's waiver wire--now should I start him? Ray Rice is my #1 back for for #2 I could go with Pierre Thomas (vs. SFO) or Jackson (vs. BUF). Thomas was solid last week but he always loses some work to Bush, whereas Jackson should be carrying the majority of the load in Green Bay.

^ Even if Jackson has the full load dont expect alot...its his first real start in a pass first offense. I like Pierre Thomas to grind down the clock once the Saints take a big lead.

Oops my bad man. What is the scoring for this league? Standard scoring I'd go with Jackson because none of the QBs have a good matchup. If QBs have a higher scoring potential then Ill take Alex Smith because he will have to throw alot to keep them in the game.

Hardly a surprise, but just to confirm.

"Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer has confirmed that Michael Vick will start at quarterback for the Eagles this Sunday.

Hardly a surprise, as Kevin Kolb (concussion) has yet to be cleared to even practice. Vick has a favorable match-up against an unproven Lions defense, and is likely your best bet as a fill-in if you are a Kolb owner. "

Should I start M.Floyd over Randy Moss since he's going against Revis (even if he's injured)? I'd hate to keep Moss on the bench at any time, but I got burned last week when Champ shut down Sims-Walker.

^ yea i can't decide what to do with Moss.. i think the Revis hamstring "injury" is BS, and Moss has never done well against him

i've got R. Moss, S. Smith (CAR), Naanee, Maclin, Gaffney -- pick 2

also, Matt Schaub or Michael Vick? (dumb question right?)

I'd go with Moss and Smith. And Schaub.

pick 3 WR. non-ppr league, but we get 1 point for every 20 punt/kickoff return yards:

Anquan Boldin @ Cincy
Desean Jackson @ Det
Dez Bryant vs. Chi
Percy Harvin vs. Miami
Malcolm Floyd vs. Jax

I have boldin and desean in my WR1 and WR2 slots, but I'm waffling with this 3rd slot. I think Bryant will get a ton of looks like he did last week, and the return yards will be icing on the cake for him. Harvin also gets return yards but he hung me out to dry last week - he has the highest projected points for this week according to yahoo, fwiw. Floyd is the #1 WR going against a terrible Jax secondary, in a game where the chargers will be looking to get their passing game back on track.

whatchu think?

Im liking Bryant out of that list. He was targeted a ton last week and he gets the return yards and I think he will get into the end zone this weekend. Great matchup too.

Second would be Floyd but I dont think he has the upside of Bryant. Jax may have a less than stellar secondary but they did sack Orton 3 times and pressured him. Rivers was also sacked twice and pressured alot against KC so an offensive line that cant hold KC might have problems with Jax. And he is second behind Gates.

Harvin is a tossup...I cant really make a prediction because the Vikings played so poorly and the Miami pass D wasnt really tested.

Thats my opinion but its a very tough decision. I could see picking any one of the three.

Naanee is a good play this week, but I wouldn't bench either Smif or Moss for him.

Going forward, I bet that Naanee finishes the year with around 1000 yards and 6 touchdowns. He is a more complete receiver than Floyd, who can't really get any separation but rather relies on his size and leaping ability. Floyd is gonna struggle against #1 corners this season.

Keep in mind that true #1 corners usually go up against Gates, unless they are going to bracket him with a safety and a linebacker.

I still think Floyd is the number one and cant stress enough that Naane's stats only looked good b/c of one blown coverage. I like Floyd this week a lot, and I believe the Charges are going to make a conscious effort to get their passing game going.

Flowers was matched up with Floyd all night, and he basicly stole Floyd's lunch money all game. Floyd isn't quick enough to get separation. Never has been. He is a jump-ball specialist. Naanee is a better play for the rest of the year.

Teams haven't lined up their #1 corner on Gates in years, its almost always a linebacker or nickel corner with safety support.

i'm being offered Naanee for Bernard Scott and a 3rd round pick next year (out of 4 rounds) in a Dynasty League.

my other RBs are AP, MJD, and Ricky Williams. my other WRs are Randy Moss, Ochocinco, Cotchery, Hester, and a few other 2nd tier WRs.

i'm thinking about taking the trade.

The Raiders put Asomugha on Gates almost every time they play.

regardless, Floyd is still the number 1 until Naane starts consistently outproducing and getting more targets than Floyd. If the fluke TD hadn't happened, Floyd would have had a better night.

I'm starting Floyd in a $300 buy in, 12 man league. I hedging my bets that he will have a bounce back game.

Wrong again. Asomugha always plays on the left side. Prior to this year, he has never shadowed the opposing teams top receiver.

The last top corner to shadow Gates was Champ Bailey. Back in 2005 & 2006 when the Chargers had no threats at WR.

Naanee would've had more catches and yards even without the 59 yard touchdown. But aside from that, Floyd just showed his limitations on Monday night. Floyd is a feast-or-famine WR. He is a great deep threat, but against teams with a shutdown corner or good safety support, he's worthless. Naanee will have more receptions this year. You heard it here first.

B) Right side, sucka. Now roaming around the field and guarding where ever he needs to be. http://nfl.fanhouse.com/2010/08/17/raiders-cornerback-nnamdi-asomugha-to-cover-top-receivers-everyw/

I got my right and left mixed. So you are admitting from that article that your prior post was bullshit. Thanks.

I am judging Floyd from watching him for about 5 years now. He is a specialist. He makes highlight-reel grabs but struggles to get open. This will be magnified if he has to go up against top corners and rolling coverage.

Naanee is harder to predict, but he slid right into Jackson's spot on the right side and one of the perks of that spot is that the offense makes safeties choose between picking up Gates and the receiver on a regular basis. The blown coverage was the direct result of Gates drawing multiple defenders. Gates lines up in the right slot more often than not. If they had moved Floyd to the right, I would predict that he gets more catches. But as it is, Naanee is the biggest beneficiary of VJax's absence.

I need to sit one:

Hakeem Nicks vs Indy
Dwayne Bowe vs Cleveland
Malcolm Floyd vs Jacksonville

Nicks has an injury that somewhat concerns me. Bowe and Cassel just never got it going last week, and I'm not 100% with Floyd. They all have matchups they can have success in, but just want to get your thoughts.

Wyche expects Harvin to be "fully equated" into this week's game after being "taken out of the equation" last week. Wyche further explained that Harvin will be used "out wide, in the slot, and as a running back" behind Adrian Peterson in this week's matchup against the Dolphins. The Vikings apparently realize that they have to get the ball in Harvin's hands to be successful on offense. Check back late Sunday morning, but for now Harvin is a fine WR2/3"
