a lot of people just get sick of baseball by this time of year. i like baseball more than football, but i'm not watching the rest of the playoffs after all the worthwhile teams got knocked out because i no longer give a shit.

do you not think Braun's steroid coverup influenced an occasional swing voter or two?

I'm assuming Braun is the only NL player you think was more deserving

The Giants have the best and most loyal fanbase in all of MLB, they deserve to have an MVP on their team.

Let's just say I think the AL got it right and that the NL didn't.

And I also think Yadier Molina is a better catcher

But who cares. Good for the Giants. Too bad Bochey didn't win MOY

Yad is a better clutch/contact hitter

and iirc he had his best power hitting season this year

but lets be real here, nobody gives a shit about the National League in general, so i dont know why were wasting so much time on their award

because the Giants have the best fans in the world and they deserved to have an MVP award to go along with their 2 WS trophies for being so terrific

their stadium is lovely too

and so is fisherman's wharf and golden gate park

ok now instead of debating why Braun should be MVP, you're just being a butthurt A's fan jealous of the team in the Yay thats won a World Series or two since the mid 90s

look, i know the A's best 3 players in the last 20 years (that weren't traded) were a juicer who wouldn't talk to Congress, a juicer who snitched in a book and appeared on reality TV shows based on that snitch fame, and a fast ass dude who didn't even know he used to be John Olerud's teammate, but that doesn't mean you have to be so hateful to the Giants

the A's won 28 more games this year than my team, I don't know why you're so mad at a dude who had his leg broken last year

you act like Cespedes got robbed from the award, not cheating ass Braun

Ok, I'll actually bite.

Perhaps the main reason I hate the Giants franchise so much is that they have made it their mission to ensure that the A's leave, so they can have 100% of the Bay Area baseball market share for themselves.

Before PacBell park (Now AT&T) park was built, the Giants were all but ready to leave and move to Florida claiming that they needed to secure territorial rights to remain a lucrative franchise. Walter Haas Jr. (former A's owner) ceded rights to SJ (for free) to keep both teams in the Bay Area, back in 1992. Mind you, this was like 3 years after the famous Bay Bridge Series.

Fast forward to now, the A's would like to move to San Jose, because frankly our stadium in Oakland fucking sucks as bad as Candlestick. Guess who refuses to let them move there, claiming it would destroy their market share...

So yeah. Fuck the Giants. If it hadn't been for the A's, that franchise would've been long gone. All we'd like is a new stadium (kinda like how the 9ers moved to the South Bay), but we are pretty much out of Bay Area options unless somebody can fund a stadium in Oakland.

well your owner is shit, maybe only rivaled in shittiness by Peter Angelos, but i still don't get the hate on Poser winning the MVP

to me it'd be like me bitching that Zeller won ACC POY last year over Michael Snaer just because I hate the Tar Heels

Yeah Lew Woolfe is a total jackass. He refused to let the tarps comedown during the playoffs

And I don't really hate Buster Posey that much. I may hate the fact that he plays for the Giants, but he's a good baseball player for sure. I was a bit surprised that he won, given that I don't even think he's the MVP on his own team, but I wouldn't say that I'm angry about it.

And the Fremont idea was never actually going to happen. Nobody wanted a ballpark in the suburbs. I'm pretty sure it was just Lew Woolfe's way of saying that he had tried SOMETHING.

I don't really care who won it but these arguments of "he won the triple crown so he deserves an award" are annoying. He already won an award for it, the Triple Crown (which is far more rare and valuable than the MVP).

It's like saying that since a movie won the oscar for best picture, it also deserves the kid's choice award for best makeup.

The triple crown is a tremendous accomplishment and he deserves credit for it, which he gets as being known as a triple crown winner, but it doesn't automatically mean he was the most valuable player in the MLB.

Just like if someone threw 2 perfect games they shouldn't automatically be the Cy Young winner.

their rate stats are close enough that you could make a good case for trout as the MVP when you throw in his defense and the fact that he plays a position that's more demanding than cabrera's. i don't think you could really consider either one of them to be an incorrect choice

it's more like saying if a movie won "Best Movie in the Last 20 Years" it should win that individual year's Oscar for Best Picture

There is WAR and then there is WAR vs players in the same organization. Trout's WAR is much lower vs peter Bourjos (mainly because bourjos is also an awesome CF). On the other hand Cabrera's is much higher as without him the Tigers would be rolling with Don Kelly out there.

With that being said, I'd take the Angels being a better team all day with Bourjos in CF instead of trout vs the tigers with kelly instead of Cabrera

^^^Not to mentioned his 45 extra SBs

I guess I just don't get how if Granderson or Hamilton had hit 2 more HRs it would've been ok to champion Trout for MVP

In that case, Verlander or Felix based on who they'd have to field as their new #5 pitcher to replace them
